What is something Bill Nye taught you?

The sensation of itching comes from pain receptors.

There are only 92 natural atomic elements.

That cool trick where you put a cardboard disc over a cup of water, turn it upside down and the water doesn't spill everywhere because of surface tension.

Spin a filled bucket around and the water stays in because of centripetal (not centrifugal) force.

If it weren't for the force of friction, you'd slip and slide all over the place.

Bill Nye did not teach me this but I wanted to share before I forgot it.

Metal does not have a smell, because smell is transmitted by vapor and metals do not give off enough vapor to be detectable by our sense of smell.

The metallic smell you notice after, say, handling coins, playing guitar, touching something rusty, etc is causedby the metal interacting with and changing the oils in our skin.

Check YouTube channel NileRed for more info.

If you find yourself in the limelight again due to a renewed interest in your previous work due mostly to nostalgia, don't try to rekindle the spark by doing an updated version of the old routine.

If you have knowledge on a subject but are not an expert on that subject, people without knowledge on that subject will believe they are smarter than you.
