Is this healthy?

If the first 30 is stretching and core exercises it's fine. Shouldn't even take that long. Aside from during cardio take short rests as needed. The timed break isn't necessary. Catch your breath and get back to it. Six days a week, alternate arms and legs for weight training. Don't eat garbage and you should have visible results within a month.

I ate at 12 15 pm yesterday and did not eat again until this morning.

Had Starbucks blueberry oatmeal with agave syrup and nuts.

So that's the worst thing you could do, idiot.

any activity is probably healthy if you weren't doing any activity before. I'm thinking about taking a kick boxing class .... only thinking though .... not making any real effort

i gained like 10lbs this month. i'm not at all happy about it.

but in my defense. my knee about gave out on me. and that shot up to my back.

i have to figure something out, because as it stands now, i am so unhealthy.

the last 3 days i have been dragging ass 'round here.

also, periods these days are 10x more debilitating.

and i KNOW i don't eat right. on the go constantly. *sigh*

i wish there was a magic pill to drop 20lbs. i would be absolutely happy at that weight.

i need to get rid of 30 ... maybe 40. I like my shape I just need to tighten up. When I live on my own I'm really good, looking trim, working out looking cute ... when I moved back in with my parents .... jeesus .... I'm doing bad ....   I gotta go back to swimming regularly. I fucking love to swim I just haven't put in the time between work, graduate school and my single parenthood to get my flab in shape.

>.>

and I stress eat ... so ... I got some work to do .... am I still putting on a swim suit when we go on this vacation even with all this flab? .... you bet your sweet ass I am xD

there aren't any magic pills.

i just have to buckle up, and get to walking again. through the pain.

but i do wish there was such thing as a magic lose weight pill. other than 'speed'

Swimming is probably actually best for you. If I remember right a lot of people recovering from injuries and that sort of thing use swimming to strengthen injured muscles. Super low-impact and you can get a really good full-body workout.

What Sawdy said.  When you fast, your body attempts to conserve fat and your metabolism slows.  On top of that, you're eating something that has questionable nutritional value.  You're likely to gain rather than lose weight doing that.

i did the water therapy at the v.a. a few months ago. it, sort of helped. but after i got done, and had the drive home,

it wasn't worth it. i would just be in pain again. there's no closer facility/gym/pool close. so i would have to drive an hour.

but yes. i swam through jr. high/high school. i know how very good swimming would be for me.

What about cycling?  I mean spinning on a stationary at low resistance.

i gained about 10 lbs since i quit smoking a few weeks ago, which i fully expected. i was actually expecting to gain more than that, so yay for me. i started a routine this week that includes better eating (limiting calories and carbs) and some cardio, and i'm already off 5 pounds from the start of the week. if i can drop another 15-20, i'll be at my target of 180 and that will be just fine.

funny you say that. i would ride a bike. but not these roads, and there is really no where close to 'ride'

however, the state FINALLY started re~doing my road.

they added 2ft to each side, making the shoulder wider, and not dirt. :) so i can see this happening.

i have used the stationary at the gym, but...eh. i'd rather be outside, casually riding,  not paying attention to how far i'm going

I have to gain to be at what I consider a healthy 190. Fuck metabolism and 25 pounds. As much as people are like, "I love food," imagine shoving a barrel of spaghetti in your mouth to keep from losing weight. I noticed myself getting fat from peanuts a while back, so maybe I should eat a lot of them when I work out. I should look up strategies for that, I suppose.

If it weren't for my bike, I'd probably would never get cardio because going out on the river path every Saturday is my favorite thing to do.  It's just a 13mile loop, an hour of fun in the morning before the sun comes out.  But, now that I'm older, I have to kind of watch my heart rate and make sure I don't go crazy on the attacks.  Also, I have to avoid falling off my bike... again.  That shit hurts.

quitting was hard until i was ready. at that point, quitting smoking was easier than quitting soda. which i've also been good on for about 9 months now.

God Damn the person who tries to make me quit beer though.

I remember how much I weighed when I was muscular. Like a college football player, 6' , 190. Probably not a star but a solid linebacker.

Linebacker at 19O?  I was linebacker and my playing weight was 214....I'm also 6'.

You sound more like a def end.

A lot of my power came from speed, it's why I loved football. In seven yard spurts I was explosive. I never worked out to not be knocked over, I worked out to be too fast to stop.

That's like safety weight.

It's the agave syrup in particular that is questionable.  Oatmeal is often served with brown sugar which is bad enough, but that syrup is problematic.  In general, adding sugar to anything is going introduce carbs that are not easily processed.

yahtzee. it's like fuggs thinks she's contributing, but she keeps stumbling into the diabetes ward with a sack full of candy bars.

I was reading from the bottom up because of that stupid thing this site does to scroll you to the last post if it asks you what replies you wanna see, but yeah....If you were fast, I can see it.

Barely.   I think safeties are supposed to be just over 200 with a BMI in the low 20s.

I don't think either of us played pro ball so your numbers are a bit off.....I played in college, but I showed yall my prom pic from my 2 years younger than me girl's senior prom....I discovered coke in college.....I was probably 190 then lol.

I'm not a football player.  I'm using a prototypical football "athlete" (as in the generic classification rather than a specific position) for a FBS "Power Five" team.  Those guys tend to run in high 20's BMI based on height and weight (and assuming muscle mass).  The average ball player is going to be lower than that just because smaller schools don't have the kind of nutritional programs and facilities to build human freaks.
