No Googling.

Name at least one voice actor that played a major Disney movie protagonist (obviously animated films, no Anne Hathaway answers plz, xp). And... eh, I guess Pixar films are allowed too (though I think those characters generally have more recognizable voice actors).

And by protagonist, I mean the main character. Obviously everyone knows Robin Williams played the genie, dragon Eddie Murphy, etc.

No ancillary characters. Princes, princesses, main characters only.

How many can you think of?

I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but I couldn't think of a single one.

I'm probably forgetting someone really recognizable, and will feel like an idiot once one of you posts it.

Mel Gibson was John Smith in Pocahontas

Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story

JTT/Matthew Broderick as Simba in Lion King (Lots of the supporting cast are pretty well known in this one too)

Huh, I never realized that was Gibson in Pocahontas.

Same goes for Lion King.

Ehhhh.... I can't really allow it.

I'm pretty much using The Genie as my point of reference for characters like that.

He's in the movie a lot, he even has an arc... but the movie isn't about hm.

Kind of like how LotR is about Frodo, and not Gandalf.

He was in the TV show Home Improvement. And a movie with Chevy Chase and indian scouts. Mostly he was just cute though.

Also just remembered that Demi Moore was Esmerelda in Hunchback.

I always confuse it with Road to El Derado, which is DreamWorks I believe.

I liked both.

Plus 'Road' has a pretty kick-ass Elton John track.

But, Michael J. Fox did play Milo in that... decent Atlantis movie.

Kurt Russell voices Copper (the dog) in Fox and the Hound. And, funnily enough, Corey Feldman voices young Copper.

it turns out it was names like rosie o'donell, glenn close, and minnie driver that i could barely remember from tarzan.

I remembered John Goodman and Patrick Warburton were in "Emperor's New Groove."  They're both mains as it were.

Tony Shalloub, and Cheech Marin are in "Cars," but they're ancillary.  Paul Newman is a main.

Hercules' younger self was played by Josh Keaton. Mulan was Ming Na. One of The Rescuers was Bob Newhart.

For Pixar, Monsters Inc was John Goodman and Billy Crystal. James L. Brooks was Marlin from Finding Nemo. Patton Oswalt was in Ratatouille.

i have literally watched it almost 100 times.  i used to have just a vcr and tv with no cable and repeat-watched each tape all day everyday.

We think that's somewhat by design. The idea being they'd rather have the main characters stand on their own merits, rather than be remembered because a star voiced them.
