So anyone else feel like we are living in Nixon times?

That happened with Clinton too.

I know of two with him. Wouldn't be surprised if there were more. I don't understand how right wingers will blame Hillary for her Husbands cheating and say she is bad for that, but yet still defend Trump.

one thing for sure is that the US wont be the number one economic leader. it's very well known that china will overtake us soon.

and with our decline in power we might throw the world in further peril to try and stop the up and coming nations.

So your leaning towards conflict? That's not a good outlook. >_>

I wonder what if the Prez does get the boot soon, what kind of President Pence would be. Very on edge about that.

yeah. if we somehow dont have any conflicts with other nations, which i doubt, then we will continue to see great inequality.

and it wont matter who our next president is. they will try to put the person they want again. they will get a yes man, someone that is very similar to obama, bush, or clinton.

I was thinking that they might push that Kennedy legacy guy. But I'm not sure, and just hoping for the best.

I wouldn't want him to be either, but you know, I lean to vote against a disaster like Trump again. I know that's not everyone's view.

ah ok. i can pretty much say anyone in the democrat or republican party is someone we dont want.

remember that obama was really smart but pretty much just continued many of the same policies from bush. and trump is continuing many of the same policies.

i mean he's outright attacking everyone, but end result is the same.

Idk, I keep voting because people have to keep working to demand change. The finish line for equality has always been miles away from the people. But progress is slow, and things have changed, like women's right's, and civil rights. Yes it sucks that we have to keep fighting for our rights, but its better than doing nothing. I think maybe people will start talking to each other as people again once they realize the facebook world is a pit that isolates people.

I mean our prez is messing up so much, has so much legal cases, except we get to live the more ridiculous version of it. Which is kinda funny.

No, it feels more like Regan mixed with Bush Jr. at this point. After the latest set of warmongering appointees and reauthorization of the Patriot Act which is almost definitely going to be abused again, it's only a matter of time.

If anything the scandals are more akin to Bill Clinton's less than savory conduct raping women, though Trump is so old at this point I doubt he's doing it in the Oval Office. This all seems to be women from years before he was ever thinking of running.

How is that Nunes memo working out for you?

Also, one way in which the Trump presidency is unlike the Nixon one- when Nixon was under investigation and fired swaths of people, it was called the Saturday Night Massacre and led to his resigning.

Under Trump, that happens every Friday.

Also, Nixon wanted the US to have a socialized healthcare system like the rest of the developed world was adopting at the time.

Shows you how far right the government has shifted.

it will always be a struggle towards equality but what we really need is to unite. thats why i always put a lot of emphasis on attacking the capitalist system.
