Cigarette smoke wrecking electronic items

Really?  If it does that, you should just invest in better quality stuff.  I had a TV work beautifully for twenty years and it was still working when I gave it way in favor of a new flat screen.  I've got radios that are more than fifty years old and still work like new.  Even the remotes for my lighting and my windowless air conditioner are still going strong after six years.

its carcinogenic tar dude...it's like being in a smokers house and thinking the walls are white until you take that picture off the wall and see how yellow it really is

Just bc I'm curious about this claim and I know Packard doesn't know how to link to posts and so will answer "go find it your self do your own work"

Not sure where poof heard this. .First I've heard of this.  As much as I would like to cape for her, that's absurd. I suppose in refineries and such where carcinogens are a constant this is possible but no one smoking squares is fucking up their TV

Tell that to my brother who hot boxes cigs in his room. I know at least one tv crapped out on him. My sister got my dad's dvd system when he passed and his tv's. The tv's were never cleaned because my dad was allergic to cleaning anything, as all good bachelors are. It was covered in this tar film on the screen. The tv's were fine far as I know, but the Sony DVD player overheated like a mofo and would randomly shut off and not turn back on until it cooled. Didn't even have to have it running long. You would almost burn your hand on the metal casing. This could have been a faulty player, but I always thought it was caused by that tar smoke in his tiny ass apartment.
