enad Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 http://www.pcmag.com/slideshow/story/350293/in-memoriam-the-tech-that-died-in-2016 I didn't realize there was still a company producing VCR's up until this year. I assumed that went the way of the BUSHPHONE long ago. Also lol at my Fi service being on my Nexus starting earlier this autumn.
scoobdog Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Well, it was a terrible year for tech no-one cared about.
DragonSinger Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 If I had money to afford it, that Samsung camera would have been nice to have. I'm meh on everything else except the Apple headphones jack removal that annoys me because of douchebaggery.
Sieg67 Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 I just saw a VCR/DVD unit at Walmart yesterday. It's been a few years since I've seen once outside of a pawnshop.
pail Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Just get a pair 'dem Beats wireless headphones. 3 hours... damn... Even my lawn starting to get a fade...
fuggnificent Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 ive been looking for a dvd vhs combo for awhile but whenever i find one its really expensive
Rumb0 Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 I'm surprised Dumbphones (also known as "feature phones") are still being produced. Even if they are relegated as go-phones, it's strange that any company would waste resources and money manufacturing outdated phones. It's also a burden for Qualcomm because they have to consistently rollout small security updates for Brew MP, even though no one uses the Internet on those phones.
StarPanda Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Shit better find a vcr before they end up like that one episode cowboy bebop
Sieg67 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I still have one I bought at Walmart about 13 years ago. I gave it to my mom a few years ago and somehow it made it's way back to me. I once to use it to record shows on [as] when I couldn't stay up late. Pretty useful when I lived in Iowa and had to get up to work in the corn fields at 3 am. Now it's just sitting in my living room collecting dust.
wacky1980 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Also lol at my Fi service being on my Nexus starting earlier this autumn. i just started up fi service on my nexus 6 this month. thank jeeberz the service itself didn't get the axe. although, it's getting to be about time for a new phone...
Sara2021 Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 People still had Blackberries?! That was the worst phone ever even at the height of its popularity. Not quite dead yet, but gonna be real sad when Apple gives up on iPods.
Top Gun Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 People still had Blackberries?! That was the worst phone ever even at the height of its popularity. Not quite dead yet, but gonna be real sad when Apple gives up on iPods. I went out of my way to buy a Blackberry Priv a few months ago because it was literally the only smartphone out there that still had a physical keyboard. Fuck typing on touchscreens to hell.
Sieg67 Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 I only find physical keyboards nice when I can fit an entire finger tip on the keys/buttons. Trying to press tiny buttons is frustrating.
Sara2021 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Yeah how anyone could press those tiny buttons is beyond me. Or maybe I just need to obtain a special dialing wand.
Top Gun Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 They are tiny, but at least there's still tactile feedback and a clear differentiation between keys. Every time I have to type on a normal smartphone my sausage thumbs turn it into a living hell.
Sieg67 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 You might do better with swipe mode. I don't use it personally but I have tried it out and it works better than I expected.
CAC Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 You might do better with swipe mode. I don't use it personally but I have tried it out and it works better than I expected. swipe is king on a phone, so much easier to type once you get used to it.
djst Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 you'll be dead long before that happens. secret some random outdated stuff away in a time capsule for your descendants to unearth. make em rich.
