PhilosipherStoned
Supposingly it's the main chemical in the brain responsible for making you feel tired. I've seen it in the suppliment aisle, but I've never actually used it. I feel like I would just get addicted to sleeping pills, I don;t even know what the active ingrediants are. fuggnificent
Melatonin is the active ingredient and it doesnt make you tired as much as it helps you transition to sleeping a little easier- hard to explain.

PhilosipherStoned
I really don't need you to explain it and I'm aware of the process entirely I just wasn't trying to get into a neurology lecture, but melatonin is the chemical the brain releases that gives you the sensation of being sleepy if that sounds better to you. I just asked if anyone used suppliments Jesus.

PhilosipherStoned
I only brought it up because Drank Anti energy drink used to fix me up pretty good, and except for one occasion when I chugged one on lunch break and was in the passenger seat instead of driving it never made me just crash... Supposingly it had melatonin in it.
Doom Metal Alchemist
Apparently, if you take it and don't allow yourself the typical full 8 hours of sleep, you'll wake up extremely groggy. I've experienced this twice first hand getting 5 hours of sleep each time. I had to leave school after like an hour and go home and go to bed I was so tired. blueraven1999
It sounds like Melatonin would work for you then. I'd try it if I was you. If it doesn't work, try inositol. It's a dietary supplement but it works for me.
bnmjy
Schiff knockout pills seem to work well. Of course, if otc pills don't work yoy can readily get a prescription.
Rogue_Alphonse
I have taken my gf's prescribed melatonin and it does nothing to make me feel tired I have to drink myself sleepy and even that doesn't work half the time.
Naraku4656
i've taken them before. it works sometimes if you're already tired then it might help but if you're super awake you might want to take something like Tylenol PM or something

I've just kinda always felt like I have to be up all night, and if you stay up long enough to let just a little daylight hit your eyes it fucks up your sarcadian rhythm and can end up severly inhibiting your brains ability to produce melatonin if you do it as much as I do.. Those drinks would do the same thing kinda. It makes sense. If you suddenly get an abundance of the chemical your brain is definitly gonna hit that shit like a crackhead fresh out of withdrawl..
