Actually, it's quite easy. I tend to maintain "zones" when I unpack. For instance, everything in my suitcase, bag, checked luggage, etc. stays in the general vacinity of where that bag is kept, be it the hotel closet or even a corner of the room. It's not like i repack the bag every time I take something out, I just make sure everything stays near it when I change. My carry on that contains my personal items stays on its table. My electronics stays in the safe if there is one. My toiletries stay in the bathroom. When I buy something on that trip, I make sure it's left in the zone of the bag it will be coming home in. The point is that you won't lose things if you make it so you don't have to look for them to pack.

Even in your case, depression is a symptom, so it makes no sense to "focus" on it. You would treat psychological components and then treat the physiological causes because you don't want to unnecessarily medicate. Clearly, this psychiatrist was not treating her properly.

Your medical records are not available to anyone without your consent (except in rare circumstances to law enforcement with a court order), and that includes other medical professionals. At most, the new psychiatrist would want to know what medicines you are taking or have taken in the past to better diagnose you, but he or she certainly would never ask for a previous doctor's report and you would not be obligated to provide it. Still, given your track record, it might be a great idea to see if you can continue to talk with someone about your feeling in a non clinical forum so that you can better formulate what is bothering you. If I had to guess, your mother dismissing your problems sounds to be extremely problematic.
