  1. Clearly, his opinions were also influenced by general ignorance.
  2. Yeah, but you shouldn't defend the right to tell those jokes. Maybe telling a bad joke doesn't equate to being assaulted, but it certainly doesn't come without consequences, and, so far, Chris Rock has faced no consequences for it. This isn't just someone telling a fucking dud of a joke, it's someone making fun of a physical affliction. Do you think it's just a bad joke is someone makes a joke about Michael J Fox's Parkinsons?
  3. Will Smith being wrong isn't in question, it's whether Chris Rock was also wrong.
  4. First of all "alopecia" really just means hair loss, and obviously, that refers to anyone who experiences it. For most people, it can be attributed to another cause (severe obesity, chemotherapy, genetic traits), but it appears to be more common in black women who don't otherwise have the usual physiological factors. The causes of it are not fully known yet, but it's a well known fact in the African American community that women run a heightened risk of losing their hair for no discernible reason.
  5. You were definitely mad at being called white passing. You could sense the shift in tone in your posts.
  6. Well it kind of started because you were dismissive of the racial ramifications of Rock’s joke. It’s never just a joke when you’re dealing with race specific health conditions, and It’s all the worse because it’s reducing JPS’s severe anxiety about the condition to a punchline. Some jokes do cut worse than others and there are boundaries to what a comedian can joke about. Like you said, two wrongs don’t make a right, but you were racially insensitive in making that argument in the first place.
  7. Wait, are you Native American? i remember you mentioning you were getting flack for being latino, I think at a comedy show.
  8. The term has an ugly connotation to someone who has previously mentioned that he was subject to at least some bigotry because of his race, and it was a needless personal qualifier to an otherwise perfectly articulated point. As wrong as his argument is, it’s one that other comics, including WOC, have also made in defense of a comic who is also a POC.
  9. That's not true bro. You don't post here all that much, so maybe you don't have a feel for the dynamics, but your opinion isn't dismissed. I don't happen to agree with your stance on Chris Rock (who had never apologized for good joke, btw) but I definitely take your perspective as a comedian as better insight into Chris than someone who isn't a comedian.
  10. You were in the wrong calling him white-passing, especially since it didn't serve your otherwise well articulated point.
  11. They aren't in SoCal, but, in general, brand has nothing to do with price unless there a gimmick involved (like how ARCO is "cheaper" on average only because they don't pay credit card fees). In fact gas stations get gas from the same refineries regardless of the brands.
  12. I was there by myself for hours.
  13. They’re going to be a whole lot of grinding for sure.
  14. Where you taking the lucky lady, @ghostrek?
  15. Happy Birthday, World Traveler!
  16. I mean near is relative, but there are still four in the metro.... which is surprising.
  17. Did you get a digging bar? Always get the digging bar.
  18. It's been dying for a decade, man. That was good chicken too.
  19. It was a euphemism, obviously.
  20. Oh..... So you and your date were stranded after you fucked?
  21. Not to say anything, but it's probably not your battery unless you turned your car off in front of a lumberyard..... which is possible if you saw a clussy. It's probably your alternator,
  22. Your photo travelogue game is trash bro.
  23. Or... He's a perpetual wannabe edgelord? Never noticed him doing much other than being contrarian and mostly ignored.
