  1. I’m really not sure what Aniplex would want to push. There’s the upcoming second season of Lycoris which could show up before the end of 2024 but for an immediate replacement… I guess Mashle? That’s recent enough shounen. The other big question is how much Demon Slayer will Aniplex lend Toonami this year? If you’re right about Aniplex then probably up through Swordsmith Village will air this year but maybe even the Hashira Training arc will start airing on Toonami before 2025.
  2. Just like how they did make bumps for IGPX airing in the bonus hour but didn't air them. It could be a mistake because the network doesn't expect Toonami to air beyond 3am or it could be the network being really lax on something airing at 3am. Which means we might see weeks where Toonami dips beyond 3am and whatever airs at 3am just doesn't have Toonami bumps. They're gonna have to run an extra half hour to fit both Titan specials onto the block for one night if they ever intend to do that and its nice when the marathons can be flexible with how many episodes will air.
  3. Version S is pie-in-the-sky-ish if they can't expand beyond earlier than Midnight and now I have made Version SS for if they can get 11:30 back. Getting 11:30 early this year would help fit Scavengers in without disrupting the rest of the lineup and leave room for either an additional show or the return of Two Piece when Shippuden ends.
  4. Fair enough, they might not be able to rerun Mugen Train once a week because they spent it's 2nd run on a marathon but if they are even allowed to rerun Entertainment District one time they'll probably do that much. Giving Dr. Stone season 3 a full 2nd run is the primary reason I was considering expansion to the rerun portion while IGPX is still airing. I just didn't have that one some versions of the schedule. So I will remove the additional run of the Mugen Train arc on most versions. I don't recall DeMarco ever saying RickAnime will definitely air on Toonami, that was always a maybe and might be largely out of his control if the network puts the encores on Toonami. You might be mixing it up with Scavengers because he has said "if Scavengers airs on Adult Swim it will be on Toonami" EDIT: I decided to add Version L (L for taking the L) in which there is only 1 new acquisition besides Lycoris and the others are continuations. Demon Slayer breaks after Entertainment District which opens up the top slot for RickAnime which would bump Ninja Kamui to 12:30 for the remainder of it's run. And rather than rely on double One Piece for multiple weeks in a row I filled a 6 week slot mid-Summer with (you guessed it) FLCL. Which one? Could be any of the first 3 seasons or a combination of Grunge and Shoegaze. I also realized that having an MHA marathon for the hero Star and Stripe seems like an obvious choice for 4th of July weekend. So that's Version L, pretty close to the worst case scenario without shrinking the block. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18kiZEHRjCW0yVkdMRQT1ypPkHkTUJQHKEPMuKl5DmCg/edit?usp=sharing
  5. I still say they don’t air RickAnime on Toonami baring an expansion. It’s probably airing early in the year and Toonami is pretty stacked till Spring. It can and probably will air directly before and eventually after Toonami. JJK and Spy x Family are certainly optimistic even though both are years late but I think they’re plausible enough because they’re years late. But okay I made 2 more revisions that are considerably more realistic and Version R includes RickAnime replacing Ninja Kamui in May. I suppose it could replace Demon Slayer after the Entertainment District arc finishes but IMO DeMarco would rather have Scavengers on Toonami than RickAnime if it comes down to it. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18kiZEHRjCW0yVkdMRQT1ypPkHkTUJQHKEPMuKl5DmCg/edit
  6. So here’s my latest schedule forecasts for 2024. In this build Get Jiro airs but Primal season 3 and Lazarus aren’t ready till 2025. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18kiZEHRjCW0yVkdMRQT1ypPkHkTUJQHKEPMuKl5DmCg/edit
  7. Yeah I did totally forget about Get Jiro. There’s no guarantee it will come out in 2024 though.
  8. A novel idea but a confounding one nonetheless. You don’t simply start a new block and not tell anyone what will be on it.
  9. That certainly does explain the sudden extra episode of Dr. Stone at the end of the year. The strong start to 2024 continues!
  10. If those two companies combined then it’s going to kill several niche cable networks and potentially cut a 3rd or more of the linear television business for children. Nickelodeon Nicktoons Teen Nick Nick Jr. Cartoon Network Boomerang Discovery Family (maybe Discovery networks aren’t sold off with the WB ones, dunno) There’s no way they’re leaving 6-7 standing. One kids network, one rerun/animation network and one preschool network. Nickelodeon is the brand that will stay. Cartoon Network by name might be some amalgamation of Nicktoons, Boomerang and CN. Nick Jr will absorb the CartoonIto content. Brace yourself for Nickelodeon airing Gumball and Teen Titans Go in the few slots they don’t want to air SpongeBob in. Adult Swim wouldn’t be attached to CN anymore and combine with Comedy Central, probably as Adult Swim by name and so they would not be limited to comedy but basically it would be Comedy Central plus the AS library relying heavily on South Park and Rick & Morty. Unless the AS crew run that network, the chances of Toonami sticking around are not good despite having plenty of space to air it. The biggest boon besides a paid streaming service with a huge library would be PlutoTV gaining channels for DC series, Looney Tunes, Hanna Barbera, CN Studios and other WBA shows.
  11. The true joy of owning a season boxset is never getting around to watching it.
  12. Great fight choreography in the first two episodes and the story is remixed to decent effect so far. It’s not One Piece but a it’s also not Netbop or FMA Live Action.
  13. Its possible that those 4 recap episodes will be considered part of the season and even get dubbed but I guess we'll see. If those aren't considered part of the season will the season go into October in Japan or will it simply be 21 episodes?
  14. That sure does look like it says FUCKER OF DOOM I'm all for extra Dr. Stone but that lack of notice isn't so great. But maybe this means the Facebook schedule with a 7 episode marathon of Dr. Stone wasn't wrong and website schedule will adjust Yule Log to 3:30-5:30? It would be kinda stupid to only rerun the first 6 but I suppose they have ran plenty of marathons where they didn't get fully caught up to the latest episode. So your theory is they couldn't run 2 episodes of One Piece this week and had to make a hasty adjustment? If it really did come out to exactly 50 episodes then you could be correct. That would also explain why they chose to take One Piece off for 3 weeks after FLCL Shoegaze ended. Had they not done that then they wouldn't have been able to run two episodes for 4 weeks. They thought they could do 5 but realized they had one less episode to use. It's either that or they need to finish Dr. Stone a week sooner and the only real opportunity to do that is this week before they need the extra spot for a long Demon Slayer and then Lycoris Recoil. I suppose it could be both.
  15. Kinda whack that Lycoris isn't getting 12:30 even temporarily but if they have something major coming to 12:30 or bumping Demon Slayer to 12:30 then that does make some sense. Meanwhile the Dr. Stone airing schedule is more than a little hard to follow for people not entirely up on Toonami's upcoming schedules. This week they suddenly drop an extra episode with mere days notice on the AS site schedule (DVRs might not adjust accordingly in time) then it takes 3 weeks off and doesn't come back in the time slot people expect it to be but one week later it's back to that prior time slot. Sure it's always directly after Demon Slayer but if they had kept it at 1am then you could look at this week as a transition from the 12:30 to 1am slot and then when it comes back after 3 weeks it's still in the 1am slot till it ends. But oh well. I'm not too concerned about Dr. Stone or even Lycoris Recoil being at 1am instead of 12:30 but given it's a totally new show for the block it would have been nice if it wasn't airing a full hour into it where it's less likely to be noticed because of the people that will peace out after Demon Slayer or Dr. Stone. I hope whatever is coming to replace Dr. Stone is worth slightly undercutting Lycoris for. If it's encores of Rickanime which could easily be slotted at 11:30 instead of midnight, then that's just stupid and they should bring back Two Piece instead.
  16. Started low but at least the drop off between shows was minimal in 18-49 and Dr. Stone onwards were very close in totals. Though ya gotta wonder why this particular week was so much worse for DS than prior weeks.
  17. Gonna figure May 4th at the earliest for Toonami. Should suffice for a headliner for late Spring till mid-Fall if originals aren’t ready to air.
  18. We’ll see what happens. For now we don’t even know if Swordsmith will immediately follow Entertainment District. If it does it won’t necessarily mean anything but it could be a sign of a quicker turnaround for the next arc.
  19. It could feasibly get on Toonami sooner.
  20. It’s pretty evident by now they do marathons mainly to stall and they will use them on non-holiday weekends when necessary. They just shoot for taking off 5-7 weeks a year and mostly take off holidays because that generally makes the most sense for casual viewership.
  21. Honestly not bad for the current bar. Mugen train might be picking up steam.
  22. Great to have these weirdos back. I got more amusement from both of these episodes than I did from the Plantasm movie.
  23. I’ve been calling the Titan finale for January 6th ever since we got the confirmation Entertainment District starts on January 13th. There’s no other good reason to take a 3rd week off the regular lineup then.
  24. Back in 1998 I caught a bit of Toonami at a friend's house and he was like "yeah they play Voltron and Dragon Ball Z" and I was like "cool" but didn't really think about it again until I got CN in 1999. When I got CN in 1999 I started watching Toonami regularly and basically never stopped.
