Royal Crackers Discussion Topic
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
noticed they no longer mention the episodes will stream next day(Probably because they are rebranding as max)so they just removed that bit from the episode promo's now -
is anything At CN/AS Being warmly Embraced by WBD Right now?...doesn't seem like it feels like Everything's On Fire while David Z Drinks a cup of coffee in the middle of the room while saying "Everything's Fine" If Adultswim had anything else going on i doubt they'd act like royal crackers is amazing and hype it up like it's another rick and morty success story
-
Need i remind you that Symbionic Titan(A Kids show)aired on adultswim's toonami in the early years?.....besides that it's weird you keep trying to imply toonami fans frown upon shows that aren't adult and gory enough.....since we've long moved past the days of Deadman wonderland And Akame Ga Kill on the block with not many people online missing those days

adultswim starts earlier on May 1st
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Surprised they didn't update the time change on there yet nowhere did i imply My Area's the center of the universe...simply put no matter how you slice it The New Start Time(For All Time-Zones)is too damn early 7:00 6:00 5:00 whatever it is...all time zones have it too early i know children don't watch cartoon network and most viewers on the channel are adults but pushing adultswim to start earlier and earlier is just gonna make things..weird especially since they don't have a lot of content they can get away with airing in those time slots aside from KOTH And Maybe futurama -
adultswim starts earlier on May 1st

I Suppose it's better than the time-zone where it's now starting at 5:00 PM though(can we really call it adultswim at that point?) -
for me it goes from starting at 7:00 Pm to starting at 6:00 Pm and two hours of king of the hill i don't know about anyone else here but 6:00 pm seems way too early for adultswim

hell's paradise was a manga and people in the anime/manga community certainly knew what it was(not like that series was a sales failure or anything close to that) also do i have to say this again? "none of this means it would be successful on toonami" i don't know why you keep thinking "Put Any Trendy Anime On Toonami and the average joe will be hyped"
-
okay here's something you have to understand....none of that means it would be successful on toonami why? because you keep forgetting Nielsen Ratings gauge a small portion of the overall viewing audience and a lot of them are probably casual viewers who don't soak up anime news like you or me they aren't gonna be all "OMG! Hell's Paradise Is On Toonami?!" because they won't even know wtf Hell's paradise even is

Demarco's little more than an adviser on toonami since his promotion it's Gill Austin who probably works the magic on team toonami(someone who doesn't really use social media so demarco has to be the block's mouth-piece even though his role is smaller since his promotion) when nothing at CN/AS has been going right for a long time it's a bit unfair to pin this all on toonami being incompetent

Theo really is the star of the show and to a lesser extent matt also why is it that aside from naruto maile flanagan plays complete weirdo characters? -
as well as the following -"Kind of a total mess" regarding synergy at CN / AS right now -A Toonami making of book has been written and laid out but unlikely to be released -AMC would never license Pantheon over to AS -"A little bit" of progress on getting anime from Crunchyroll -- Uzumaki still in production, "has been a hard road tbh", still hoping for this year - Looking into doing more things like they did with GITS SAC where the network help funds the anime in exchange for airing rights although someone on the toonami discord noted that demarco had already deleted the tweet mentioning Ben 10 so it's possible he broke NDA

"Toonami Isn't An Anime Block"
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
it's easy to always blame toonami for what's wrong with the block but these days i think the answer isn't that cut and dry it's WBD....we know Toonami's resources are smaller and the crew working on the block has been reduced so what might not have been so difficult in the past is now quite the challenge for a few people -

"Toonami Isn't An Anime Block"
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
could it be that Sentai just rarely responds to toonami?...it's known that hidive's customer service sucks ass and they still don't have an app for it on modern consoles it's either xbox one or nothing... -
"Toonami Isn't An Anime Block"
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Streaming Services made things difficult for toonami...that's where the American Action cartoons are they aren't on cable television -
still no idea what will air next saturday i mean i guess they could rerun MHA but that'd be pretty lame....The AOT Special would only cover one night and Unicorn Warriors eternal would only take up one slot so what's the plan gonna be?

I Don't think There's gonna be enough Western Content coming in for toonami to be able to solely rely on that.... -
"Toonami Isn't An Anime Block"
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
that's my point...yeah it's not suppose to be an anime exclusive block but looking at what mostly fills it's schedule....it's hard not to see why some people would say it's an anime block Any American Cartoons that would be perfect for the block are likely held by a streaming service and while DC Cartoons are always an option WBD isn't exactly generous enough to hand them out like candy hence why we only see those sometimes and not all the time -
This is a comment I see every so often when someone becomes annoyed at Non-Anime Airing On Toonami however while that statement is true....Toonami isn't exclusively an anime block it's hard to not think it's become one at this point Majority of the content that [AS]Toonami has aired has been Japanese Animation so when someone comes in with this expectation of toonami being an anime block it's not so much because they think that's what it should be it's because that's all toonami presents them with.....when Non-Anime is so uncommon on the block it starts to become harder and harder not to view it as an anime block

I Think the problem might stem from the fact that Toonami has such a pathetically small team holding down the fort and one with a lot less money to barter with than previously Delays And Mistakes are more likely to happen if you barely have anyone working on the team at all as for genndy...I Think it's about time he accepts that his shows fit more with the toonami crowd than the crowd who falls asleep to rick and morty
