I Can't really see one piece leaving the block again not anytime soon anyways because Toei still seems to care a lot about american cable tv hence why One Piece was able to return

adultswim starts earlier on May 1st
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Yeah that was for DVR Theater...A late night spot where adultswim would air shows like that to fill time although it seems like they no longer have interest in something like that anymore Adultswim is looking for more reliable shows and has no interest in the experimental night owl approach they once employed which is a shame because that experimental mindset is what made adultswim so cool and interesting You Could get stuff like Tim And Eric Great Job you could get frankenhole frisky dingo or bizarre infomercial style shorts adultswim was when the night owls came out and took over....Now though? it's less "Adultswim is this night owl's hang-out" and more like "adultswim is where you go if you wanna watch a couple hours of KOTH" Adultswim used to have more than one show occupy the sunday night line-up with new episodes but now it's just one show gets all the attention for sunday nights and then when it's over something else will take it's place...being the one new show on sundays -

There's little reason for me to regularly tune into adultswim because i don't feel like watching hours of american dad or king of the hill I Like adultswim for the adultswim content not for the acquired sitcoms they use to pad out the line-up each night and as such i miss when there was more than one adultswim original airing in a single night when sunday's weren't just "Royal Crackers" or whatever the flavor of the month show happens to be for [AS] at that time when Adultswim's experimental night owl shows weren't being phased out and bumpers weren't so damn boring -
At this point it just feels like one piece is a filler show on the block but one that's very confusing because it's never gone back to double episodes even when the schedule has been as lackluster as it is now and it really needs more than a single episode with how crappy it's pacing is

What do you think the show tied up in Japan is?
CountFrylock replied to Toonamiguy321's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
whatever the show is...This Japanese Production company doesn't want toonami to have it anytime soon -
More stalling, but maybe Dr Stone S3?
CountFrylock replied to Toonamiguy321's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
which is a shame because it's very important and sets up events for season 3 without it You'd be very confused -

after this sunday there will be one episode left in the season... they really rushed through season one by airing the first three episodes in a single night -
Viz debuts a new manga subscription for their non-Shounen Jump titles
CountFrylock replied to Jman's topic in Anime & Manga
Can't sign up for it on the website though you gotta do it through the app which means working through apple/google.... I've heard they can make subscription services awkward to handle and if you have problems then you gotta contact apple/google -

CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
still there's gotta be some reason why they don't wanna put futurama anywhere except the graveyard slot it used to have a better spot on the lineup when it first returned but then they started airing it near the conclusion of the night's schedule -

CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
they could have done something with futurama with this extra time but instead they chose more king of the hill....so I have my doubts that'll change when bobs leaves -

CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
i wonder if The Hulu Revival had anything to do with adultswim just dumping it in the graveyard slot -

One Piece Episode 615 Discussion
CountFrylock replied to CorbeauKarasu's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
This Show really needs to be doubled up again(when the episode was over I Was Like really?...oh right the pacing) the fact they stopped doubling it up and have not gone back to it full time is still bizarre also i noticed this topic has fewer posts than last week....actually now that i look at it that seems to be the case for the other shows as well- 18 replies

Jason Demarco Q&A Twitter Recap
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
-those three shows he lamented toonami never got to air were escaflowne slayers and magic knight rayearth -Fox Kids indeed did pick up Escaflowne simply to prevent Toonami from airing it. (Although, I did hear that they tried to get Magic Knight Rayearth less because of their interest, and more because it was offered to them through Ocean and TMS back in '95, and they passed on it due to DBZ and Sailor Moon not doing so well in syndication, but Toonami being successful and Fox Kids' own success with Digimon caused them to reconsider) -So apparently Yu Yu Hakusho was bound for Toonami before the decision to air it on AS, but was later moved to Toonami anyway due to higher ratings with the K6-11 and T9-14 demographics than AS's 18-35. -Do not count on anything Criterion Collection related ever airing on Toonami, and no it's not budget reasons. -He worked on "The Mouse in The Mask" album by Danger Doom -Outside Toonami shows, Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule is his favorite Adult Swim show. (I don't know if he worked on it between Toonamis, like he said about Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!, so it could be one of his "babies", per se) -Even in the CN area, there was no way they could air the Daft Punk music videos for Random Access Memories. Their budget was bigger, but just not big enough for where they were in their career at the time. -Either he's backpedaling or the real reason CN didn't let them air Evangelion was because they didn't think it would do well enough in ratings and GRW was his chance to prove it could, and that failed just like Nadesico. (I could have sworn that before he said it was just too much to edit for CN's standards so they used GRW as an excuse to be able to air it at all.) -Whoever predicted this was correct: The network used 9/11 as a convenient excuse to stop airing Mobile Suit Gundam prematurely, because neither CN nor Toonami wanted to air it and Bandai essentially forced them to, and it got low ratings (possibly on purpose). (It wasn't discussed, but I'm willing to believe Bandai had a huge foothold on CN and Toonami - .hack//SIGN was apparently going to continue airing reruns into the City Era before it was replaced with Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. There's even a "Now/Then" City Era bumper face with it used on Legend's premiere date. It also explains why DICE and Gundam SEED's burnoffs immediately happened while Yu Yu Hakusho's was delayed.) -None of the other Toonami original shows will use CGI/3D, besides FLCL: Grunge -The whole idea of Toonami came from Sean Akins. DeMarco himself came up with the name though. -Jason DeMarco is "full time developing and producing now" since Discovery stepped in. -
