  1. I didn't even know this was a thing until hearing about the sentencing. Not that I ever watched much of the show.
  2. Absolutely. It feels like it's doing its own thing for most of the run, and it has a solid cast of characters. If it wasn't a FLCL series it'd be great, but it winds up getting bogged down in the end by some dumb "plot" nonsense.
  3. I tried to rewatch most of Progressive the other week to see if I'd maybe judged it wrong, but I had to give myself a break after two episodes because what the actual fuck.
  4. Heh, my dad mentioned stumbling across Dexter's Lab while channel-surfing yesterday. Maybe this block might snag some of our parents too.
  5. Never a fan of his music, but it was impressive how he managed to cultivate a fanbase and brand over decades.
  6. I hate that I fell off of actively watching the show over its last season or two, because I would have loved to watch this now. I don't even remember the last episodes I watched so most of what happens would be lost on me.
  7. There is no possible universe in which the score of a series on a random fan site would affect a broadcast contract.
  8. I didn't say that either. We've been in empty mode this whole year.
  9. I'd rather have an empty block than one full of isekai trash.
  10. WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER *stabs out own eardrums*
  11. For some context, I saw this image posted in an article about the water release. Those are all storage tanks holding wastewater. Kind of mind-blowing.
  12. LEONARD BERNSTEIN! (that's how it goes right)
  13. So many days home from school sick watching The Price is Right in the morning. Cheers.
  14. I finally beat it this past week, and according to my Switch profile I was somewhere north of 220 hours. Maybe a bit of that was leaving the game paused, but still. I had pretty much everything I wanted to finish taken care of beforehand: all shrines, all lightroots, all main quests, pretty much every side quest I'd found, almost 500 Korok seeds, the gear I wanted fully 4-starred, you name it. The entire final sequence is the coolest thing I've ever seen in any Zelda game, full-on jaw-agape wonder. I may have shed a tear or two during the ending. What an absolutely stunning game. The crazy part is that after the fact, when it shows you the percentage completion for the map and quest numbers, I learned that there was one single solitary side quest that I haven't found yet. And I have absolutely no idea where it could be.
  15. Because they have massive tanks full of millions and millions of gallons of treated water, and they're running out of room to add any more. The only radionuclide remaining in the water is tritium (which apparently is nigh-impossible to filter out at this point), and TEPCO has stated that the levels in the diluted water they're releasing are well below the international standards for safe levels. Granted, TEPCO hasn't always been the most forthcoming in every aspect of the disaster and cleanup, but for something as high-profile as this there are a lot of eyeballs monitoring the relevant levels. I get that radiation is a scary topic for a lot of people, but there's so much FUD that flies around whenever it comes up that you sometimes have to slice through the bullshit. And yeah, I don't doubt for a second that China was just looking for any excuse to screw over Japan's fishing industry, because China gonna China.
  16. I just want to get the damn franchise over with already, and I know it'll take me ages to do it on my own, so I want it on the block so that I'm forced to suffer through it.
  17. I genuinely love how they've seemingly leaned hard into a creepy circus vibe for Buggy.
  18. Again, you have literally no idea what other series Toonami has or hasn't pursued over the past few years.
  19. My guy, distributors chucked free shows at the block over 15 years ago. The current industry is absolutely nothing like what it was then. And I believe that they're constantly talking with people, but it's not as easy as just saying "Hey we want this/Okay sure." Shit happens.
  20. Or maybe the prices for any of these series are more than [as] can afford for licensed shows anymore. Or maybe streaming services snap up the TV broadcast rights even knowing they're not going to use them in an attempt to stamp out competition. Or maybe most of the rights-holders are no longer concerned about having their series air on a late-night American linear TV block and don't even bother offering TV broadcast rights anymore. Or at least a half-dozen other far more sensible options than "zomg Demarco made some tweets and probably pissed off someone so that's why we don't get shows anymore he's the wooooorst."
  21. I like how you guys still make all of these absurd exaggerated assumptions about what Demarco does or has done or his relationships with other people as if you have this grandiose inside information. It's hilarious to me.
  22. Now you're just talking crazy.
