The Warehouses would still have product to get rid of, there are State, County & Municipal laws that restrict how much product can be sent to a location that is closing, so the DotCom & remaining stores would have to deal with it. That is probably why they're having large Black Friday discounts.

Those are not the only 2 possibilities. Companies can go full dotcom, big box locations can downsize (Sears) their location footprint or number of locations, they can sell out to another company (Montgomery Wards - part of Swiss Colony, Zayre - now TJMaxx, Woolworth's - now FootLocker, Marshall Field's - now Macy's), shrink from nationwide to a regional area, maintain the only profitable location(s) (Tower Records - Japan)... Then there are companies that "rent" the name. You'd be able to find Sears in Germany & Kmart in Australia, but they are not owned by the US Sears, there's some sort of financial agreement where the other companies can use the name.

Dot com...and there's over 100 still, not including the Hometown stores.

Mug o' Eggnog w/ a shot or two of Irish Mist.

Sears had a bunch of stuff around 50% off. After all the closings, they're probably trying to lower their inventory.

Didn't mean I wasn't around for the others - I always wanted to put sunglasses and stick a cigarette in the Teddy Ruxpin display's mouth.

Well before Wii, it was Cabbage Patch Kids. Thankfully I was working overnights when that crap went down. For some reason, the Kmart in Chicago that I was at got a lot of "just out of Pontiac Correctional" guys, trying to rip the store off. Mgmt wasn't supposed to get involved with grabbing them, but when 3 security guys (all off duty CPD & CFD) are having trouble with one guy, I'd go for the legs so they couldn't get back up.

Pfft. You haven't worked "real" retail. We had a fistfight break out at a register at Kmart. At some point, one of the combatants (a Priest) spat on the guy he was fighting with.

Sorry, waiting for "Giving Tuesday".

Maybe they did, but got shorted. Ask the mgr, "Hey, did you know they didn't send the desserts? You should get your money back for those!".

1 - It depends on the cook & how it was prepared. The best turkey I ever had was a deep fried one. I love stuffing, but most people make it with onions so I can't have it. I've also had a great prime rib my late aunt made one year. 2 - Bananas Foster - same cousin (who had taken cooking courses) made this for dessert. It was fantastic. 3 - What? No hors d'oeuvres?

From the minds that brought you "eating Tide Pods is a good idea!".

From FB (Illinois Storm Community) - "Stopping to get coffee I wanted to show everyone this. Im in my 18 wheeler and loaded up at 77,500 pounds. All morning I've been averaging about 7 miles per 1 gallon of diesel, which is my daily average. I turned east to follow the wind and now I'm averaging 10 mpg! The wind is pushing me that much so please DRIVE SAFE ARRIVE SAFE!"

I used to have Sargon II (for a Commodore 64, no less). Thought about getting Chessmaster when I got a PC, but could never pull the trigger.
