Back when local restaurants were a thing
RainyDayJizz#35 replied to 1938 Packard's topic in Free-For-All
What is the point of this? Besides pointing out the only things you notice are signs on the bus route? -
This reminds me that I looked into the chick that decided Louis CK shouldn't ask to jerk off in front of women when his wife isn't fucking him. Rebecca Corry. Hi-larious. Her imdb is evidence enough of what goal she had in "breaking the silence." I found an episode of her on Marc Maron's podcast, because who else would entertain someone like her. I was hoping it was after the whole thing, but it was before which actually made it funnier. I don't think she knew what to do when a guy said, "Hey let's do something sexual right now." Glad Amy Schumer is vanishing, I'm hoping it's endemic of Hollywood losing all touch with people in the US. Then all of our shitty entertainment can be exported.

Exactly. While one can claim the nature of science as evidence for no god, one could do the same to claim evidence of. Gravity waves, the nature of matter to create and nurture life. It's such an amazing system it having a design would not be surprising. Nor would it be surprising to be the ultimate result of the randomness of atomic interaction. But the fact that atomic interaction points towards a goal is truly amazing. Honestly I'm on Buddy's page. If there's a god around I think it appreciates I take responsibility for my own life. If it's even paying attention. If you created a machine that perpetually creates life would you watch it forever or move on?

Keep on truckin'. I'm bad at this.

Most deities exist to tell a story. I don't know how many times I've said my family is Catholic, Omaha is a Catholic city, I have exposure to it and other varieties of Christianity because of the nature of that city. Religion as a formal structure executed properly creates decent human beings, which is what it is designed to do. The exact response of atheism is to attack zealotry to discard evidence of the supernatural. Any atheist argument can be dismissed with one question. When was the last time you died?

I remember a time when my ridiculousness was appreciated
RainyDayJizz#35 replied to JeNewBee's topic in Free-For-All
You are way less ridiculous than before. A shoutout to Deathy is nothing. Where's the comedy? Where's the nonsense? Also the facepaint and white eyes were amazing. -
The bible isn't the only source on god. And he's not wrong, proving a negative is far more difficult than a positive. In logic when you want to prove a negative true the first route to try is assume it positive. There are more than the usual internet denizens I think about, they're just a convenient example. The first person I can think of with any audience is David Cross, probably because he annoys me the most. The way most of them speak about religion shows a very rudimentary understanding of it as well. Maybe anyone that is vocal about their beliefs at large isn't worth listening to.

How else do you paint a big picture? There's some detail to the thought, but that's mostly for my own edification.

People that molest children when they drink.

I don't understand why the pledge is applicable, I suppose it could be military. Soldiers would understand and respect kneeling, a lot of them have the correct degree of patriotism. And a lot of them are just regular dudes, they just treat the military as a job.

itd be nice if the whole world was at peace

Nah, I know everything I need to know. -
I'm not a gambler so gambling with more than $50 bothers me. Whenever I do a Vegas trip I'll probably gamble once with about $500, because I know it takes time to do any damage. It'll be low money but whatever. I'd rather walk away up, and I probably would stop once I drop to $250 because I've thrown away money on dumber things. Continuing to do it at that point would probably feel silly to me, I could go see a show or something.
-
Maybe they're new atheists? The problem is they're always belittling the other's belief in what is ultimately exactly the same thing. Zealots of a peaceful cause? Hmm.
-
Are starting to bother me as much as religious zealots. I read YouTube comments from time to time as one of my new sources of entertainment, and whenever god is mentioned you can almost count on someone to come along and say, "Well it's a good thing there's no god." What's funnier to me is that people are starting to just ignore them.

We're a bunch of violent apes trying to realize that the other violent apes don't really want to kill us. Ultimately most people want the same things out of life, just in different varieties. Some guys wanna climb every mountain, some guys wanna murder every hooker. Nobody likes that second guy, and we know that isn't most people, but tribalism and all that. -

Yes, then no. I feel like entertaining this but it's such a basic thought. You may as well be asking if people think we've explored all varieties of cheese. -
You should really just go back to drinking.

Ok, that's it. Time for the universe to implode

Glad you can joke about it. When my grandpa died, who is probably one of the people in the world I cared about more than anyone I've yet known, I couldn't stop making jokes at his funeral. He died slow and he got to spend time with people before he died. We went for a ride to the house he grew up in which became historical for some reason, something was being developed where it was so it was picked up and moved. When we got back to his apartment I was helping him out of the car and I noticed he needed more than a guiding hand, so I became a bar that supported him, and I'll never forget how proudly he looked at me. He was probably the funniest person I've known. 40's delivery jokes and everything, it was like being related to Don Rickles. -
One time I got wasted and decided to buy a slab of salmon.Butter, lemon, lots of pepper because I enjoy that and I feel like cooking with the spices in already adds to the flavor. That's probably a provable fact. I put it on a smoker but I didn't light the charcoal well. I sat in my car to listen to music, and I probably fell asleep almost immediately. I woke up at 6 AM to perfectly smoked salmon. When I brought it in the house I set it on the counter two cats were immediately behind me. I cooked it in an alfredo sauce later, and then I baked the leftovers of that into a ziti I think. I am always great.

Damn, I already have more vacation than you and no union dues. I probably won't stay at my job, which does have decent benefits, but I'm not settling for less. As of now it's an okay job, in the fall it might end up a good job. But life has a lot of prioritizing involved when you decide to live one. Your priority seemed to be to make enough to stay drunk, given your proud sobriety, but you don't seem to have another goal to be shooting for. Most people like getting fucked up, but it has its place. And you apparently reside there.

I got this thing when I had to wear a watch for work. Found it in a box eight or nine years later still running.

Hatsune Miku is touring the U.S.

I suppose I can't be surprised they're only doing six cities, but damn. -
Doesn't seem like making progress in life was a habit either. How much do you pay in union dues for minimal insurance and a week of vacation every year?
