i took all the advice here and elsewhere and sat on it avoiding a decision for two weeks and then I went to best buy and bought a galaxy A36 haven't turned it on or swapped anything yet, first thing I did just now was immediately put on a screen protector and I did it absolutely meticulously, but in the 2.5 seconds the adhesive side of the protector was exposed to the elements I can only assume a single airborne cat hair made contact, because the screen was pristine but now there's a little white hair eternally trapped between the screen and screen protector, right in the fuckin center of the screen

did you go through the carrier out of convenience and/or some sale? to be clear - things like "bloatware" are my secondhand understand (beyond things I'm not allowed to uninstall on my carrier-provided phones), and I have the capacity to be monumentally stupid

that's kind of the bluntness I was hoping for I'm perusing, the naming conventions for all the different lines and models is completely not helpful which i assume is on purpose. is buying a phone from like best buy or wherever and showing up with it at verizon preferable to getting it from verizon? my understanding is it's cheaper plus no carrier bloatware. both smartphones I've had I think were from verizon store directly.

that was pretty much my logic when I got the g7, which may have been before COVID at this point. basically asked the verizon kid "can it do all the basic smartphone things, and also run "pokemon go?" and the price comparison was just so extreme.

I need a new phone, I have a Moto G7 because it was affordable but now I'm consistently butting up against a lack of storage and I think the SIM card is fried so the signal is shit when not connected to wifi. I use it for work, doomscrolling, and like pokemon go, so I don't need a powerhouse that can take hyper-detailed timelapse images of uranus while mining crypto or whatever the heck else phone-centric people do. I know jack about phone brands etc. so what do y'all like and/or not like?

right now it's 25mg, the original script was for 10mg (I think that's the lowest possible dose) but he upped it to 25 after the gastro said to double it for IBS it was originally prescribed for the anxiety and the sleep in a "kill two birds with one stone" way, I guess now it's a "kill three" I've never felt a direct correlation with anything, but it's a low dose. there have been late nights where I catch myself starting to doze out at the desk, possible it's because I already took the pill (generally take it when getting ready for bed) and procrastinated until it hit but also possible that it was just really late idk

i was prescribed like the minimum dose for anxiety/sleep, and then the gastro doctor was like "oh you're already on that? I want you to double it" but the dose is prob still so small that I don't notice anything

I kind of disliked the concept of hardcore competitive SSB since I learned wavedashing was a thing 20 years ago. It's a game about fighting 80s and 90s era cartoony video game mascots with cartoony slapstick chaos, the hyper competitive stuff just sucks the soul out of it for me.
