  1. RIP TCM is one of the greatest examples of making a gruesome horror movie with limited on-screen gore. When I was a TA for film class, I used to teach the door slam scene during the lecture on Sound. The distant pig squealing, the crack that the hammer makes on Kirk's head, the guy's feet tapping at the floorboard as he twitches, and then Leatherface's final door slam as it's left to your imagination what exactly he's planning on doing with his body. It was a completely disgusting film with a reputation of being hard to distribute due to it's violent content, but most of it's appalling nature came from how the viewer had to jump to conclusions on what the Sawyer family did with their victims based on the shots and sound presented to obscure their violence. Hooper had a ton of other great films like Poltergeist, but TCM, like the late George Romero's Night of the Living Dead, were able to do so much with a small budget and the basic special effects available in the 60's-70's.
  2. Egg whites, turkey sausage, water. They don't want you to have breakfast. Have breakfast. Celebrate your blessings. Another one.
  3. Stop, you're only going to give them ideas!
  4. [Like] (Get a load of these 2 losers)
  5. Is $20 really $20?
  6. Not really. Any time I've eaten something spicy is intentional no matter how awful I feel afterwards.
  7. It's not about wind speed, it's about what's FAIR!
  8. Seeing what shit I could get passed the radar when I submitted avatars in the prototype custom avatar submissions that mods had to sanction for people to wear. The time when everyone had to choose icons from a standard bank of [as] shows, and every so often, there'd be threads where we user submitted which icons would be added to the bank. Just seeing the gray border on an FMA, FLCL, or Bleach icon takes me back. Or Evangelion avatars. Those I treasured before they got rid of them. Trolls that didn't rely on tryhard shit like racism or shock images for attention. The livestream and polls they'd have on the front page.
  9. I'd give Hare Guu more credit because the main show is a comedy with no shounen elements. I'd compare it more with Pani Poni Dash where they're mid 2000's comedy shows that derive their humor from how eccentric they can get.
  10. Texas will understand what summer in Florida looks like every year
  11. There is an expensive hippie coffee place by me that makes an overpriced pour over. It was ok, but way too tart and tangy because they don't do dark roasts. My daily routine is making a French/Italian roast or something dark in a French press or a coffee machine. Desperation office coffee is my second option, and last resort is having to buy a cup from somewhere.
  12. It's ok, I'm only interested in women's.
  13. I need to keep up with deodorant because I couldn't stay fresh without it. I'm also a fan of Everyman Jack, but in Cedarwood. Otherwise, I'd grab Tom's or the Axe sticks since the Cedar can be hard to come by.
  14. John Belushi, John Candy, Divine, and Chris Farley were chosen to play the main character.
  15. I prefer making coffee at home, but if I have to have coffee while I'm out, I go with Starbucks because they make darker roasts.
  16. Give him the controller and see if he can beat the game.
  17. I've sent her this: Always works
  18. I couldn't find the Atlanta scene with the white DJ's Flo Rida story, so this'll do.
  19. Nickelodeon and DBZ. I remember the cartoons I liked were playing in the mornings so I feel like I spent my afternoons doing something else.
  20. I just want it to be October already. August and September only pad up the year before the Fall and Winter holidays arrive.

  22. I thought he got to the board, but only around the beginning. I could swear he had a recent argument with someone here in a war memorial thread.
