  1. Then you might want to make plans on the off chance you get fined or charged with a harsher sentence
  2. As long as you make it back by then, it should work that way. Think of it like a reservation set for the evening. You've got the full day to yourself until it's your time in the spotlight
  3. Wonder if anyone's come up with Sexy Pennywise yet?
  4. She looks like Robotnik's abusive mother who never let him go out with his heathen friends out of fear that they would've exposed him to demonic rock music. Her discipline of choice for Little Robotnik was the bar of soap, but her husband preferred using the belt.
  5. Can't wait to see the blossoming virtual love story between Kerry Turner and Amy Sutton come to life from the top minds of Hollywood.
  6. The first episode of Starless
  7. HEY!
  8. It's not that different from what was in the original version like their Prison School or Kobayashi's Maid Dragon dubs dramatically changing character motivations to call out GamerGate or diffuse the lesbian subtext of the latter. The "SJW Millenials" line wasn't in the original and they saved discussing cucks and cuckholding for the 9th episode where it becomes a plot-point. Still, I don't feel like it betrays the original meaning of the scene to have the creepy manager feel defeated about sensitivity preventing him from sexualizing the school girls or Junichi going into further detail about why he is appalled by the girls reading from the sex novels. The girls in the show are terrified about having to read misogynistic sex light novels in front of customers, Junichi does white-knight for them around the end, and the manager emphasizes he personally wants his employees to read from his sex novel collection out of desire. While the other examples were FUNi rewriting the entire scene, this translation only does away Junichi and the Manager being more subtle about how they feel about the girls reading sex novels. It still comes across as faithful to the original meaning because that's exactly what the characters were trying to get at with the meaning of the original conversation. The characters and their motivations don't change at all with the rewrite. Also, it's for Hajimete no Gal. The whole show is about why misogyny causes people to have misconceptions about what the qualities of a person's character are. Some viewers might get really emotional about the dub, but if they weren't getting emotional about men in the series being called out for judging women by their appearances, then I don't see why it's a big deal to add a line with the creepy manager decrying the SJWs.
  9. I remember the time skip being weird. Yuko was the best part of the series, so trying to shift the weight of the series on Watanuki was a mistake.
  10. xxxHolic was their best series, hands down
  11. I wouldn't be against a live action Your Name, but I'm not convinced JJ Abrams can do a movie that isn't two hours of lens flare on spaceships. He's horribly mismatched for the project.
  12. The writer of this work would go on to make Guardians of the Galaxy
  13. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams
  14. I'd like No Diggity if the word "diggity" wasn't ruined by CatDog. But if they're saying My Sharona and Titanium were the least psychopathic songs, I'd rather be a psychopath. I'm convinced those two songs could be used to torture inmates at Gitmo. The radio at work played My Sharona once and I felt like clawing out my eardrums. To my horror, they keep putting it on the station that plays My Sharona at least once an afternoon. I have a hard time believing that whoever loves My Sharona doesn't have some sick shit going on in their head. And then Titanium sounds like someone grinding tin foil on a chalkboard. I'd vastly prefer No Diggity and Lose Yourself over the two on the other side of the spectrum.
  15. When they actively went on ASMB and UE, and were like "hey, I like to read this guy's post on homophobic anime, so lets make more of it"
  16. I just rolled on the Okeanos Banner, and on my second pull, I got Francis Drake and Anne Bonny/Mary Read. My jaw dropped completely ::spin::
  17. There is linearity in the path we follow at the end of the day, but we don't have to foresight as to where that route takes us because nothing is predetermined as we know it. I would use writing a book as an analogy. The entire book isn't done when you first pick up the pen or start planning. You might have an outline or a predetermined resolution, but how you get from page 1 to page 200 might not be as it was written in the outline. The book might not even be finished to its fullest. You could say the book is finished to completion as soon as the writer stops, but there are outcomes where the writer is able to reach a different finish line. There isn't enough foresight to foretell what someone's fate is, and once they reach the point where they know everything that has happened in their life, it won't mean anything to them other than as a historical record for their loved ones to carry on or remember. There are too many routes of doing anything throughout ones life to disregard seeing life as more of a grid than a line. There's still one eventual path, but it only emerges from the zig zags and L shapes that our lives take as we make one decision over another. I had my phone stolen and gave chase to the thief a while back. I was safe, but what if I took a different path to get to my car to avoid getting stopped by the would-be thief? What if the thief pulled out a gun, and in my foolishness, I charged into a bullet? Wouldn't my life up to this point be completely different or gone without the experience I had within this timeframe? Would it disqualify the experiences I've had up to this point as something of an alternate reality that never happened? Would I have met the people I've met?
  18. I wish I had a moon stone so that I could change my life into something cooler.
  19. It's something that fascinates me because in my mind, I can only imagine the thousands of scenarios that would happen if I made one choice over another. I hold the idea that even though fate doesn't change, the future can't be visibly destined in the present. We can't see what's in front of us, or what path we take because there are always shortcuts and paths along the way that we decide to take either as a detour or for convenience that may change the future. You might say the bricks are set for a path as a professor, but obstacles, mishaps, and experiences along the way might steer you towards journalism. You might've been fated to be a journalist, but it wasn't your initial motivation or destiny to be a journalist when you had different ideas in mind as far as what your fate would be. In a crasser example, if fate aligned with what we thought was our path, then we would've had Hitler the Painter instead of Hitler the Dictator. People will only know what's fated after-the-fact, but repeating the mantra in your mind "this is fate" or "this is destiny" is trying to solidify a self-fulfilling prophecy when nothings 100% certain until you've lived through it.
