https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-news/yellowstone-taylor-sheridan-four-sixes-ranch-steakhouse-las-vegas-1236002100/ I remember when the Salt Bae guy made a restaurant where he served this ludicrously expensive steak with gold leaf. It was overrated. At that point, unless the steak is being served by someone fellating you while you’re eating it, I’m not dropping a grand on it.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
Jman replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
Okay, I think I get it, even if it wasn’t really my intention. I’ve been posting news stories mostly about endorsement and the like. Like I said, the interest to me is about the strange bipartisanship that is forming to deal with Trump, even if said bipartisanship is being done out of self interest over any sort of actual patriotism. You, however, are presuming this to be a form of whitewashing, despite the shit that was pulled during the Reagan and Bush Administrations, trickle down economics which we know don’t work, using legitimate national security concerns about Afghanistan to justify a war in Iraq, loosening environmental regulations to benefit businesses, and other things I neglected to mention. I am not whitewashing the actions of the former administrations, but considering how many hard R supporters view the GOP as their government, no ifs, ands, or buts, it is interesting to see how people who they voted for going against the current sycophantic MAGA party has any effect on them. And that is worth reporting, even if their actions are ultimately hollow, or the bare minimum of patriotic duty. -

In actual news not dealing with loitering disgruntled Republicans or endorsements, Iowa, a solid red state, is only +4 for Trump right now. -

No, I posted them to point out that Trump is just that an existential threat to democracy as a whole that it’s created very strange bedfellows. Cheney saying Trump is too fascist to govern doesn’t make light of all the shit he did (such as the Iraq invasion) but it points out that Trump is just that much worse. -

That might have been healthier than inciting political violence with a straw account. -

This is supposed to be Godoy visiting the set of Cobra Kai for its final season, but everyone is reading deep into one part - They seem to be heavily hinting Xolo Mariduenda will be Ace. -

If kids do that you peg them as future serial killers. -
I don’t see the bump being gone because this wasn’t Trump dramatically standing tall, it was some nut job who didn’t even get a shot off. The fact that all these GOP voting nut jobs keep coming out of the woodwork is only serving to show how crazy his base is.

In lighter news, RFK Jr. is finding out beheading whales is kind of illegal. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/15/rfk-jr-whale-beheading-federal-investigation -
And it was a MAGA loon. Something something leopard eating faces.

Initial reports was that it was two people shooting by each other, with no idea Trump was there. No sympathy this time. Edit - It’s being investigated as another assassin. I get you have to, due diligence, but still. It’s just obnoxious because the asshole needs people to try to kill him to get sympathy. -

Anyone wanting to play the purity test right now is a damn fool. Get rid of Trump and then we can worry about the other stuff. Say what you will about Romney, and very little of it is positive, he wasn’t an existential threat to democracy. -

It's already getting worse. The Proud Boys and Klan are there for Der Furher. -
Transformers One - 8.5/10. A good, nay, a great Transformers movie after years of subpar Baysplosion fests. The characters work, the animation is beautiful which is especially notable after years of godawful CG shows that were anything but, and the action is great without hurting your eyes.

Yeah, Invincible Fight Girl (AKA Invisible Ratings Girl) will be leading the block off in November, where it will likely proceed to tank, mostly because I don't think that Daima will be ready by then. Daima's performance will be make-or-break, especially considering it seems to be relying more on original DB style comedy (where Toriyama always felt more comfortable anyway).

If they’re complicit with MAGA and it goes down to defeat, their grift is gone. The GOP can’t exist the way it does unless it goes back to saying the quiet part quiet lest an actual Conservative Party, as in real, Nixon-era conservatism, not Reagan era “fuck you, got mine” conservatism, be formed from the ashes of disillusioned party supporters who weren’t on board with sharing the space with conspiracy theorists. https://www.yahoo.com/news/taylor-swift-harris-walz-endorsement-003928947.html Meanwhile, the Swifty registration continues to skyrocket. -

If The Apprentice is to be believed, Roy Cohn essentially preached an absolute form of perception becomes reality and manifestation. Essentially, if you keep repeating something over and over again, and utterly refuse to acknowledge anything that says otherwise, it will become true, at least to the public viewpoint. Or to paraphrase another author - The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. -
