  1. Kengan Ashura S3 15-21.
  2. Was debating where to put this but it’s clear this directly affects Adult Swim and Cartoon Network. What’s left of the latter anyway.
  3. Time was during the dreg days of Adult Swim Action (2007-2012) the fear that the block would be canceled forever was due to economic factors, the Great Recession, and DeMarco's shit taste. Production of anime was down and if it didn't mean their punishing standards, well fuck you, besides a few years of SyFy and Ani-Monday, they were the only game in town and very willing to lord that fact over the viewers not willing to shell out $30 for 4 episodes of a show. Family Guy was going to take over Saturdays and that would be it. That was a tangible issue people could whine about. Get different shows. Loosen up your standards. Etc, etc. Now the problem is that cable is dying. Even sports are migrating to the streaming model, with the uber-service being blocked, sports included with Max, Peacock, and other subscriptions, not to mention the billions in losses on the traditional studios blamed squarely on the linear channels. Do the shows they get really matter if no one is watching the channel anymore? It's starting to feel like the house is falling down around us and we're arguing over the wallpaper.
  4. I’m pretty sure all of those are off limits, but the last one especially since it’s likely exclusive to Amazon.
  5. https://www.thewrap.com/sp-global-warner-bros-discovery-negative-outlook/ Losing the NBA didn’t help.
  6. I would have saved double OP for Season 2 of the Netflix series. Granted I don’t know if Cartoon Network, much less Toonami will last that long.
  7. This seems to reinforce my belief that this show was not designed for an ongoing story and that the Adult Swim Stoner Series as a whole is incompatible with longer form, more complex storytelling. Granted we’re three years from having enough Space Ghost comics to make a proper anime that lets him be a serious character again (the comics four issues in are surprisingly good) but that’s really the only Adult Swim original that would benefit from a switch to serialization and upgraded animation.
  8. The whole thing feels like people on an abandoned island fighting over food scraps. With cable networks becoming increasingly expensive albatrosses on media companies, on top of advertising focus switching towards streaming, it doesn't feel like it will help in the long run. Animation Domination on Hulu ads are a big deal, and they're essentially cornered by Family Guy and Futurama (along with The Simpsons and Solar Opposites), an old school Adult Swim block that just needs to properly advertise Bleach to really hammer home the similarities. You're not getting the new Futurama's either way, those are staying on streaming, while the new Family Guy's are Fox to streaming. As for Rewind, I like the concept of it, but it feels 10 years too late to matter. Even if the adventures of the biggest girlfailure to ever fight monsters is more charming than half of the current CN lineup put together, it's airing on 5pm on a Friday. Not appointment television. Meanwhile the redub is over on Hulu, and Netflix is airing the remake movies.
  9. Kengan Ashura S3 (S2 part 2) 13 and 14.
  10. Considering their notable slate, the answer is probably “more original content.”
  11. I still think it’s weird to do it concurrently with both the main anime and the big budget LA show.
  12. I think they discussed it elsewhere. My understanding is while they’re still friends, Tim wanted to do more stuff in acting, while Eric’s interests were more behind the camera and in production.
  13. The Futurama deal was guaranteed to go sideways once they announced all the new episodes would be exclusive to Hulu.
  14. The previous specials have this particular Rick playing the part of grumpy patriarch more than abusive drunk. He’s still Rick but is a bit more sympathetic than American Rick.
  15. https://www.thedailybeast.com/comedian-tim-heidecker-auditions-to-play-jd-vance-on-snl Yay or nay?
  16. It was bad. Very bad.
  17. Kinnikuman Perfect Origin 5.
  18. Belated birthday dinner of short ribs and mashed potatoes with the pancetta and mushroom topping, garnished with parsley and served with Napa Valley wine.
  19. This is why I’m frustrated Suicide Squad Isekai is off limits. At least when they were hawking Max Warner would loan Toonami some shows.
  20. Demon Slayer Hashira Training 7 Suicide Squad Isekai 7-8.
  21. So I read the end of MHA.
  22. To be fair this is a decently common practice. Netflix saved Nimona from Disney trashing it and got an Oscar nomination for the trouble. I could see them being interested.
  23. I don’t know, I feel like that would encourage a lot of flame wars and a parasocial relationship with a corporate entity that preys upon that loyalty. Maybe I’m worrying too much.
