The best case scenario is he knows this and does little except for show.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles Episode 1 Discussion
Jman replied to DangerMouse's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
While coincidental, it is kind of funny this parody of the Wizarding World came out as people really started to second guess and critique Rowling’s work. Also are pastries the best thing for muscles? Figure he’d eat leaner is all. -

Invincible Fight Girl Episode 3 Discussion

Holy crap this thread is empty. This show is not connecting with anyone it feels like. All the other CN transplants felt like they had something, Genndy had the benefit of the doubt thanks to decades of cred and Primal for Unicorn. MAWS had a Superman who was actually kind of nice, not two degrees separated from Homelander or a Snyder archetype. This has… -

The best thing they can do is nothing and take credit. Except I know they’re going to do a lot and it will benefit no one save a few South African billionaires. -
I’m sort of accepting at the gym I’m not the main character, I’m the supporting mentor type. God this is what it feels like to get older.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences

House is likely but still hasn’t been called yet. This country is about to get jacked up to the point people will start welcoming more extreme measures to deal with the corruption, like a military coup. -

The downballot races are going to be weird to study. Like how Ruben Gallego got more votes than Harris to beat Kari Lake. -
Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier

No one made talkback threads this week. That is proof we all aren’t thinking about this block. -
My baseless conspiracy theory given the sheer amount of neocons in his cabinet is that the GOP promised him the rehab tour and get out of jail free card in exchange for essentially ceding any real power to the establishment. And that’s the least bad option. A return to Dubya style neo-conservatism.

He did. The metaphor about the burnt hand is apt.

This is why I hope he dies or is rendered a vegetable soon. Cults never last without their figurehead. And I hate feeling that way, but at this point, he has enough hate to throw at others. -

China Reveals $1.4 Trillion Plan to Bail Out Local Governments Local Chinese provinces are in massive debt, not helped by the specter of insane Trump Tarrifs that would derail the US economy as well. Critics are saying this won't deal with the core issues though.

He also seems to be downplaying it, which makes sense given Trump's staff is likely going to be filled with old-fashioned "Fuck the Russians" neocons like Rogers and Rubio.

https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2024-10-23/this-powder-can-remove-as-much-co2-from-the-air-as-a-tree If the idea of these plants works out, three dozen of these at scale, with about 2000 tons of the dust each where old coal plants used to be, let's see... .5 lbs of this stuff absorbs 48lbs of carbon which can be sold to corporations to put in sodas, beers, etc. So one ton would hold nearly 53 tons of carbon out of the atmosphere. We need to remove about 100,000,000,000 tons of CO2 from everything to even out. Essentially we'd need at least half a dozen to a dozen of these in every state in what used to be coal plants to successfully hit the carbon removal goal if it can be produced at cost. OK, if they get this working, and it actually works out at a scalable rate...we might actually be alright.

There’s a suspicion this was a Russian actor designed to sow more racial tension. No evidence either way. -
That might explain this. Trump may have gotten so pissed off at being called a Putin puppet he’s now hiring people who want to shove a howitzer right up Putin’s ass. It’s not super likely but it’d be funny as hell.
