The fervent defense of CaliArts by all these people just shows how incestuous the industry there is.

Sick of arguing over Nielsen’s? Apparently so is Turner Entertainment.
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
That’s the problem. Everyone goes “Nielsen’s are shit and inaccurate but it’s the best we got.” Because no one offers an alternative. -
Full Metal Panic 8-9.

Tiger and Bunny Hollywood Film greenlit - Anime is the new comic book
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Anime & Manga
I loved that movie (between Tucker, Gary Oldman, and Bruce Willis there was enough charisma to carry the whole damn thing), so if you’re down with it Mochi, I’m down with him acting that way. -
How many of them are just kissing ass to try and land a job?

Hey, I laid into the show pretty hard when it was Toonami, remember? Of course that wasn’t helped by the fact that the show was apparently saving all its good ideas for Season 2. Note to all potential writers - DON’T SAVE ALL YOUR GOOD IDEAS FOR SEASON 2 OR THE SEQUEL. At least hint at them heavily. Classic US cartoon example - GI Joe Extreme was a pretty poorly received attempt to make a Rob Liefeld style Joe series. Except a writer on the show admitted Season 3 was going to do something that the first two seasons didn’t hint at except vaguely, that the new “EXTREME!” bad guys were actually the unknowing pawns of Cobra Commander, as Cobra had begun infiltrating numerous governments at the highest levels. Cobra is not mentioned once during the run, let alone Cobra Commander. So viewers didn’t care. At least give viewers the hook.

I’m just saying that going off at the mouth towards an industry director when the same CaliArts circlejerk could easily blacklist him is unwise. You probably don’t remember this, but the classic case of this was Matt Wilson, the director of a web cartoon called Bonus Stage, whose entire shtick was bashing shows left and right...while using his real name. That resulted in him being pretty much blackballed when he tried entering the industry.

LK is actually in the biz now as a legit VA. (IIRC his most recent work was the Netflix Godzilla movies). Yeah, I can see why he’d want to not stick his foot in his mouth. If you ask me, this is just showing the obsolescence of cable TV showing these programs when Netflix and Hulu are investing only God knows how much money in the Japanese animation industry.

Neither are the Marvel films, but there's still metric tons of toys for Infinity War that sold like gangbusters. My point is...Lauren Faust is kind of a moron. But she's saying this to defend the system she profits from.

Lots of franchises lend themselves to beating the everloving crap out of armies of idiotic mooks. Hence why so many. Only thing Warriors Orochi was missing was Bo Jackson. I would have paid for that instead of just getting Games with Gold.

I call bullshit. See half of CW's lineup right now.

Megalo Box 7. After the war story from the last two weeks we’re back to the heavy Bebop/Champloo influence that probably has DeMarco’s ears perked.

When costs got too high to justify them compared to Japan.

No, his friend did. A painfully brain dead support of his bro went south.

Everyone thinks this is bad, wait till the Cowboy Bebop Reboot. https://www.facebook.com/Augmentations1/photos/a.553020231438137.1073741830.301432736596889/1972410302832449/?type=3&theater

Part V is definitely airing. -
Friend of the showrunners. Christ, his face is pure Tumblr.

Yeah, fuck him and his staff. I have no sympathy for these assholes.

Full Metal Panic 6-7.

That’s a sad fucking day for Western animators.
-
Also is there any reason Western animation has to make everyone look like a genderless blob now? I mean Jesus Cheetara is Fugly.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202 2 Full Metal Panic 5.

Remember that they were renewed until LEGO sold CN Legends of Chima. Yeah...

Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin VI. Now the $25,000 question is if this leads to an adaptation of the manga proper, which would be a remake of the original series.
