This feels like the same whataboutism they did with James Gunn, relying on manufactured outrage and cultural barriers to have Toei punish FUNi.

Is PRIMAL a trial run at a weeknight "Midnight Run?"

Genndy was rather adamant about NOT being connected to Toonami. So no. -
Finished Cannon Busters. Honestly just watch Gun X Sword instead.

I’ll say this much, five nights, five episodes on old fashioned television seems like the sort of thing DeMarco would love. -

Netflix green lights LA Cowboy Bebop, DeMarco busy hating everything

Ed can honestly be whoever the hell they want, if she cannot act, it will be maximum cringe. Seriously, doing Ed in live action is going to be VERY hard and if it doesn’t work half the episodes fall flat on their face. -

The only really questionable casting is Cho, and that’s more his age than anything. They even confirmed the Corgi. Well that and we have no clue about the writing. -

1. Support vehicles. 2. In case you didn’t think the Zeon were Nazis, yes. The idea is that they wanted to end the war before it started with one high risk operation. And that meant all the horror you see here. 3. Human made stuff is fragile dammit. 4. He’s clearly haunted by it, but in the series, it’s a clear case of “My country, right or wrong.” And if you think that doesn’t happen IRL, ask the people who serve regardless of not liking the current administration. 5. Char is clearly playing the long game. He knows that at this point he’s not close enough to kill the Zabis, and that means integration into the power structure.- 89 replies

That just speaks to the inexperience and inability to make the concept work. Rooster Teeth is not used to working with big set pieces like this considering their previous hit was about hand to hand combat. -

Julia’s been cast: -
Toonami’s legendary advertising at it again. Remember when Peter Cullen would narrate two minute previews? Because they still act like Fox Kids is their main competition?

Actually Hasbro did try to put all their crap in a shared universe a few years back and then backtracked when the comics meant to get the idea going went over like wet fish. Also Mattel owns both properties and tied them together as far back as the 80’s with She-Ra’s show frequently having the two team up (presumably so boys would tune in). They’ve always been joined at the hip till Dreamworks came along and Mattel has shown...displeasure with the arrangement.
-
Oh, that. Mattel is framing it as a middle finger to She Ra because they don’t own the rights to the show, Dreamworks does, thanks to a licensing deal outside their purview. So they made this show they control directly and shoved it on Netflix because She-Ra isn’t what they would release and apparently were told to pound sand when they offered suggestions.

Pretty much. It also explains why the Feds were losing the war despite numerical superiority. This version of the Guncannon is perfectly suitable as an anti-ship and armor weapon ala the old Guntanks. But it is woefully unprepared to actually attack other mobile suits. Hence Tem Ray’s next project. -
Cannon Busters 2-6. This show is REALLY testing the limits of homage vs plagiarism. Fire Force 4.
