Well the accusations have been going back for what, decades? Not like it matters knowing how this stopped being about Vic months ago and is about the fear of the culture being usurped instead of a creepy D list celebrity.

Can’t. See, it involves a woman accusing a man and therefore everyone will argue about this until the end of time, well after any legal ruling, under penalty of being called a snowflake.

Warner Bros last I checked is the one producing the Gundam movie. Given the newfound emphasis on corporate synergy and pooling of resources, it would be perfect for them to commission an adaptation of the Origin proper. This series, while good and full of intrigue, ends right before the fun REALLY begins. It’s in essence a very well done prequel to a show that doesn’t but should exist.

You know, when Teen Titans Go got a movie, it was a real movie. You could go to the theatre, spend money on a ticket, buy snacks, and see it with your kids. Hell, that’s why Will Arnett played Slade, his kids loved the show and wanted him in it. This was tossed on Cartoon Network on Labor Day and you know who didn’t care? Kids! The primary demo!

gen:lock Gen:LOCK Episode 5 "The Best Defense" Discussion
Jman replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
The thing is it isn’t a bad show, it’s just one I happened to see when it debuted online in January. But they keep playing to its weaknesses and not its strengths.- 71 replies

gen:lock Gen:LOCK Episode 5 "The Best Defense" Discussion

I still can’t get over how bad the advertising campaign is for this show. All that talent and they focus on the Poser-level animation.- 71 replies

Keep in mind a lot of this wasn’t possible until the restructuring let them have access to Business Daddy’s purse strings, presumably because it will be a joint Adult Swim/Crunchyroll production. And if it doesn’t work, DeMarco probably won’t get to dictate the originals (which I’m sure many on UnevenEdge would approve of). Just tell me which executive wants to green light Bean Bandit.

The demographics for this are going to be fascinating. Because I know for Tumblr this was must see television, but what about the kids leaving SU playsets gathering dust?
-
People can get mainstream shounen stuff anywhere, uncensored and at a much faster rate than Toonami. This is about what they want, yes, but it’s also about standing out. And the only way to stand out when the other guys get it to your eyeballs faster and with no censorship, is to show stuff they won’t, for whatever reason.

It’s the symbol of everything wrong with Western animation and I would prefer it ended gracefully.
-
That’s unfortunate given no one outside of Tumblr likes these shows and they don’t sell merch.
-
Can they make us the promise that this is the last Steven Universe related thing that will ever come out? Ever? That the Tumblr cartoon era is over with the majority of the shows bombing in merch, never getting made, and failing to attract Da Kids? Can we all move on?

Is PRIMAL a trial run at a weeknight "Midnight Run?"
Jman replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Genndy is no stranger to the format, but I guess this means we shouldn’t expect much in the vein of long form storytelling. -
From a normal perspective, I think the black and white is kinda dumb, but in the age of MASS STREAMING, stuff like this Primal’s 5 night event miniseries airing, are necessary to put focus on the block, not the shows. DeMarco has made it a point to describe Toonami as a boutique programming block. Black Clover and Super aren’t going to fit that mold. Stuff like this, like Blade Runner will. It is admittedly a very difficult balance to strike, higher brow programming that people will come back to linear television to see, but unlike say, Cannon Busters, doesn’t come off as derivative or gimmicky.

Crunchyroll Expo announces two new seasons of Rising of the Shield Hero
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Anime & Manga
The only point to be made is where Crunchyroll/Ellation is putting their dollars (Crunchyroll is a producer for Shield Hero). -
