  1. Well Onyx Equinox looks like shit so there’s that. Of course this goes right back to the money problem. Toonami doesn’t have any.
  2. Well Poke, it shows you how memorable the show is if I keep spelling it wrong. Don’t suppose DeMarco wants to re-consider his reluctance to grab CR stuff, eh? Knowing our luck while everyone wants God of High School he picks up Onyx Equinox.
  3. That’s a big if. Remember the budget is so bone dry they had to air Ballzmasterz. BALLZMASTERZ.
  4. It looks like total dogshit, Avatar clones continue to be poison, because “we’re inclusive!” No one cares. Animate Cannon God Exaxxion or stick to importing. But it is interesting in light of the sale rumors, Crunchyroll wasting money on non anime no one wants.
  5. Behold, the latest Crunchyroll original following Tower of God and God of High School. And laugh. Meanwhile, rumors of a sale to Sony are spreading as AT&T, up to their eyeballs in debt, hacks to the bone to save money. They’ve already put Warner Interactive up for sale, and it’s profitable. https://expertheadlines.com/att-in-advances-talks-with-sonys-funimation-to-sell-out-its-anime-streaming-services-crunchyroll/
  6. No word on Keanu Reeves involvement.
  7. Did the author really think it was a good idea to name a major arc villain Destro? How did that happen in universe? Was there a Cobra and GI Joe in this world’s past? Did Destro break off from Cobra Commander?
  8. https://www.theringer.com/tv/2020/6/23/21299977/eric-andre-interview-legalize-everything Let’s just get Andre’s first article quote out of the way - “Every time I drop acid I jerk off to anime,”
  9. Ellis’ is accused (and apparently confessed to) forcing women to enter relationships with him in exchange for jobs. Said relationships included sex. That’s coercion 101. And the man deserves to have his stupid little vampire show cancelled.
  10. I didn’t call you an idiot. You’re not an idiot as far as I’m concerned, at all, but you can get jumpy.
  11. I didn’t even mention it here. I figured it was newsworthy to go “Hey, this guy who made the Castlevania show was outed as a sex pest, so don’t be surprised when his projects are cancelled.”
  12. No, I’m not actually. Ellis was getting an adaption of a comic he made called FreakAngels to be a Crunchyroll exclusive. https://www.cbr.com/freakangels-warren-ellis-comic-joins-crunchyroll-original-anime-lineup/ Key word is probably “was.”
  13. They didn’t censor a thing. Mochi’s just mad the translation is less gay. What they did do was make the translation ultra literal. Hilariously so. Studio Khara ensured that every line was translated with the accuracy and stiltedness of an Internet Japanese to English translation. That included getting rid of certain lines English dubbers translated to make them seem homoerotic (but vague) to eliminate all that ambiguity. Nothing was edited or censored, the dialogue was just translated in the most rote, literal way possible.
  14. Ellis is the executive producer and he’s credited for concept creation. The show has to die to deny him royalties.
  15. As much as I dislike Leth, Ellis apparently copped to being a coercing sex pest. That’s significantly worse in the eyes of society and the law. Not like Castlevania was ever going to get to the good stuff anyway.
  16. http://www.multiversitycomics.com/news/warren-ellis-response/ Castlevania is probably cancelled, and it’s a question mark if the Crunchyroll anime sees the light of day.
  17. Don’t people do that to me already when I get hot under the collar? In any event, it’s fine. Just relax.
  18. ...You didn’t read anything besides that did you? As a character Ochako was always supposed to be there. She was always the main girl. The main difference was that she was supposed to be a size shifter. The author thought that was too hard to write the way he envisioned it so he made Mt. Lady the size shifter and gave her the gravity powers.
  19. IIRC the gravity power was going to go to a boy. Uraraka would have actually had Mt. Lady’s power, but the author couldn’t write it too much without making her a more conventional size shifter, so the powers got shuffled around.
  20. She’s a reference to Mirko Cro Cop? That’s...not the origin I expected. Yeah, the episode could have been called “the perils of fame.” Endeavor is simply not up to being a symbol the way All Might was, his Human Torch powers and cold demeanor make him the guy in the shadows more than the one who leads in the light. Discount Angel seems to realize that as well. Also a book by...Destro? Did he write an autobiography after leaving Cobra?
  21. I’m just gonna post random superhero story covers in the hopes MHA does a take on them. Acts of Vengeance was a fun one, it had all the villains banded together to fight heroes they didn’t normally fight. Problem was the villains didn’t get along. “Oh right, having the Holocaust survivor in close proximity to a Nazi couldn’t possibly end badly...” I think at this point the reruns have made us all ready to move past the school festival.
  22. The school festival is thankfully done, now back to more superhero stories. How about Acts of Vengeance?
  23. Surprised they didn’t descend into 200K with Ballzmasterz considering how awful that show is. This is a block running on fumes, but it’s boosted by the unceremonious cancellation of Saturday’s top dog.
