  1. It did. It’s a simuldub.
  2. Great. In case CR’s servers buckle, there’s a backup.
  3. Zaslav continues to chainsaw his way through jobs and projects not making money as he tries to corral the ginormous debt Warner Bros. Discovery has.
  4. Yeah, it means something much worse there. Which is funny considering Kojima’s endorsement got people to look at Cyber City ODO of all things (he name dropped it after reviewing Cyberpunk Edgerunners). On an unrelated note - Shin Ultraman is a pretty good film and hopefully they can secure a wider release, or at least a Netflix airing (Netflix is making their own original animated Ultraman movie on top of the anime but it’s the classic kaiju fighting Ultra). Now back to laughing at DeMarco and wondering how many other IP holders laughed in his face when he said he wanted to make a Toonami anime.
  5. The scale of the insult that otaku is tends to vary a lot. Random example - The director of Shin Ultraman came to NYC for the Asian American Film Festival, and described it as a dream project. He IMMEDIATELY shut down the idea he was an otaku during a Q&A, because you know, he goes out in public (such as going to the Big Apple to watch his movie be the most popular thing at the festival by a country mile) and showers.
  6. Kojima is a cinephile, and one look at his “cast” for Metal Gear 2 on the MSX would make that clear. It’s actually why I wouldn’t mind a good Metal Gear movie if it was based on 2 (which the latest script was before it descending into the pits of development hell and infighting). But being called an otaku by Kojima is such an L I am completely unsurprised that DeMarco killed him off in a horror coproduction by proxy.
  7. Over the weekend - Chainsaw Man 1 and Bleach Thousand Year Blood War 1. OK, I’m following.
  8. You ever really regret life choices?
  9. Actually the MHA panel was for the dub premiere.
  10. The panel for it didn’t mention a peep about Toonami (but neither did Bleach’s) which has me thinking the show may be done on Toonami.
  11. Shin Ultraman - 8.5/10 - A really solid film whose main strength and weakness is the feeling that it’s three TV show episodes taped together, which I think is kind of the point. It’s also the second part of Anno’s thematic Shin trilogy, which if Shin Godzilla is about man’s powerlessness before nature, this is about man’s attempt to work through that powerlessness and achieve something greater. Between Shin Godzilla and this, I can’t wait for Shin Kamen Rider (which I presume Crunchyroll will distribute).
  12. Premiere came and went and the crowd seemed to really be into it. The animation is great, but it’s Bleach, so the story will be something you may only have so much tolerance for.
  13. Bleach is debuting today at NYCC. And they are jammed to the rafters in here for the premiere.
  14. Crypto as an industry is the classic case of a gold rush. Only the people on the ground floor, back in 2006, mining the coins, were making cash and even then it was volatile as hell. Everyone else - To quote Frank Fontaine - These sad saps. They come to Rapture thinking they're gonna be captains of industry, but they all forget that somebody's gotta scrub the toilets.
  15. I have no patience for acted out roleplaying sessions, AT ALL given how animators like to cram D&D sessions into damn near everything, so this is disappointing.
  16. https://twitter.com/cnschedules/status/1578443863315791873?s=46&t=A5Px6Jm1Ow48tlinPQZd2A David Zaslav once again shows he’s the only chainsaw man Warner Media will get. No idea who was let go, just that Craig of the Creek’s staff was gutted.
  17. The anemia of the block continues. With everything locked down tighter than Fort Knox, it’s few and far in between.
  18. On a completed unrelated note, Oscar Isaac is attached to a Metal Gear film, but scriptwriters fighting with Kojima means it will come out between never and LOL DeMarco.
  19. And here’s the trailer -
  20. The latter is more Sinema and Manchin. When he did the bare minimum, lawsuits was launched. It’s frustrating but the choices are literally “your ass or a hole in the ground.”
