BIG MONEY IDEA! Do You Want To Die At The Bottom Of The Sea?
Jman replied to DragonSinger's topic in Current Events
One theory I hear is that billionaires being so damn rich find it difficult to entertain the possibility of bad things happening to themselves. That they can buy their way out of problems. -

Alright, what’s worse, being crushed by countless tons of pressure, or slowly asphyxiating? I assume the former is much quicker. -

Considering the pressure, an implosion was probably very quick. -

I really hope that CEO kept his mouth shut, because you know the passengers probably went after him if any of this got out. -

Well the last hour of oxygen has passed and it appears they haven't found the submersible. Also The Simpsons apparently predicted this too - -

There was a refugee ship that was capsized in the Mediterranean. The people on board were saved by a super yacht owned by a Mexican silver magnate. I mean, good on him for helping out the refugees, but if that ain’t financial inequality in one image… -
Started reading the comic for research. You will never want to eat sushi again for fear the sushi chef will kill you, because you broke Rule #208 of proper sushi etiquette. You probably won’t want to keep reading the comic either. Edit - That was actually a pretty short comic. I can’t see the series being more than 10 episodes ala Unicorn and that’s probably liberally using flashbacks to Blood and Sushi. Bourdain was clearly reveling in a power fantasy where he gets to kill rude customers in a setting where asking for a California roll is a justifiable homicide. Not sure how it will fly in a post-Menu world. But like I said, you will NEVER want sushi again because that chef will gut you like a fish (pun not intended) for breaking a sushi etiquette rule.

BIG MONEY IDEA! Do You Want To Die At The Bottom Of The Sea?

Yeah, that is a bit too much for me. It’s insanely stupid, sweeping this year’s Darwin Awards, but wanting people to die? What did they do to you personally besides have horrible taste in recreational activities? The OWNERS meanwhile, if there’s a law that can prosecute them for gross negligence, let them have it. -
Y’all better hope the Superman brand brings in people because this is some harsh ratings buzz for a block that’s already hurting something fierce in a way not seen since the Moribito and Kekkaishi days. This wouldn’t even be Toonami’s fault necessarily, except it’s the same weekend the Black Clover movie was the second most streamed movie in the entire world (although some might say that supports the theory that Planet Earth needs better taste). That’s damning.

Live Action One Piece, from sheer confusion to Season 2 renewal.
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
No, it’s the initial recruitment, Barate, Arlong, and Lougetown which make up the entirety of the East Blue arc. Also each episode is an hour long. -

https://twitter.com/op_netflix_fan/status/1670889278937657381?s=46&t=qkEIjJHbOepJnnU58px_yQ S1 will apparently end at Arlong, so hopefully Lougetown recasts Alvida. -
I’m pretty sure they mean animated movie because a live action Chainsaw Man would demand Tarantino direct it, and he’s retiring.

CNN confirmed it during a prior interview with the submersible operator. -
Would you pay $45+ to see [as] alum Tim Heidecker?
Jman replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Tim’s an interesting cat. His ad campaigns are bonafide hits (he’s responsible for those Terry Crews Old Spice ads) but Tom was a SLOG with occasional flashes of brilliance that made the slog hurt more. Moonbase 8 was also pretty good and he did give us Steve Brule. I dunno, if you have nothing else to do that night, it might be worth it. -
What did you have for dinner? NOT a discussion thread.
Jman replied to The_annoying_one's topic in General Discussion
My original plan was to have white wine pasta and salmon, but I noticed my potatoes were starting to spud, so I air fried them with duck fat and had them with salad and a ribeye. And some red wine. This song sums up my dinner dilemma - -
Anyway, it looks like the movie is a bonafide hit, with it today only being behind the Extraction movies as the most popular Netflix movie in the entire world. Think about that for a minute as you lament Toonami's state. Black Clover was always a bit of a punching bag for the block, but holy hell, these numbers are insane.

I've said it before, they had no competition so they saw fit to act however they wanted with the material. And the past few years it's come back to bite them in the ass something fierce. No one wants to work with them anymore so we have to dig up an Anthony Bourdain vanity project and other Max sloppy seconds for Toonami. Witch from Mercury would have been nice, especially with it apparently rocketing Bandai to record profits for the Gundam franchise.
