I'm not sure how much I buy Demarco's "I can't get anything" excuse. He got AOT... Super...SAO.....OPM.. Kill La Kill.... Toonami seems to be able to get the big stuff when it feels like it. There's tons of anime no where near as big as AOT or Super that would be great fits for Toonami. But they're all unavailable? Not sure I buy that.

Well.. no more Gundam and Kai soon and Outlaw Star is over...... so we should have ... something? Aside from FLCL. So our last new anime before BC was what.. Lupin? That's not a lot of new content.

People with OCD don't like change, or surprises. Half the people on these boards probably have OCD =P

Big 3 must be a Japan thing, because it was Shonen Jump Manga that the big 3 was referring to. Plus... the US doesn't give a rats ass about One Piece so it has to be Japan. With Bleach... I didn't watch Bleach but I read that it wasn't the filler, the author just ran out of gas after a certain point and people just didn't like the story anymore. Why are they moving away from the long runner model... hmmm... hard to say. Maybe they sensed that starting a new long runner in this day and age would be harder? Maybe animators were getting fed up with the ridiculous schedule and studios thought that to make money they'd have to actually put some care and thought into their product instead of a bunch of mostly unanimated boring filler? I've also noticed that the creators of new manga seem to have more input over how the anime ends up when it gets an adaption. Years ago they seemed to be more like slaves, forced to churn out endless content until their masters were satisfied. Oh and did you say you wanted more Naruto? But like I always say, when the viewers crater early on the retention for the last part of the night is always really good. Even dandy did 104 percent. We'll see how FLCL does when it airs for real but if this weeks ratings are any indication... it's not going to do very well. There's no way Boruto is getting the top spot.

They really have no confidence in HxH for some reason. As someone that only enjoyed one arc and doesn't watch it anymore, can we at least admit it's better than Gundam or BC? It clowned Gundam in the ratings last week with 118 percent in the key demo. Gundam bombed hard. And it has an assload of episodes left. I really don't understand their decision making process at all. While I was typing this, they probably acquired Gundam Thunderbolt.

Well it was absolutely tanking. Mid 70's retention and key demo retention coming painfully close to dipping into the 60's It just takes them such an alarmingly long time to adjust though. We're like.. 16 episodes in. How long did it take for them to punt GXP?

Really? I just don't see Franxx as an anime that people would feel strongly about one way or the other. I mean I'm interested, and I'm going to keep watching..... but.... I'm ashamed to admit I looked forward to Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody more than new episodes of Franxx this season. Death March is a moderately better version of In another world with my smartphone. Keep in mind smartphone is truly awful. Overlord S2 and Sins S2 .... way more anticipation. And killing bites.

Oh and just in case you're a completionist type person, they made a side series called the disappearance of Nagato Yuki Chan set in the same non magical parallel world the movie takes place in. Everyone is a normal high schooler without any powers. It's a good slice of lifer but it's no Toradora or anything.

BC might be a lead in for a rerun of FLCL S1. If it's a lead in for S2 they're just on crack.

At this point I will watch anything that Studio White fox touches. They do amazing work and have a knack for picking winners. They're kind of the anti Pierott.

What old style Shonen are left at this point? Boruto, Fairytail, One Piece and BC? With the push BC got I think they decided ahead of time that they wanted it to become part of the new "big 3" that Bleach, Naruto and One Piece were a part of. That's probably why they went with the old style. So now it will be One Piece, Boruto, and BC as the new big 3. Western audiences just don't have the tolerance for filler that Japan does.

Ok well back to Franxx. Sadly no one seems to be talking about this anime much anymore since it has mostly gone nowhere. This episode just raised more questions than answers. 02 going nuts is fun though. But I feel like at the pace this is going they're going to need another 24 eps to wrap this up.

Because most people hated it and S3 comes out in April. Toonami aired the first 2 seasons so there's a good chance it's going to air at some point. My guess is still no stealth premiere of anything this year.
