It's worth noting that due to the timing of SAO being perfect, it's basically the most popular anime out there now. A new season called Alicization is coming out soon, along with a side story anime called Alternative Gun Gale online. There's a live action Netflix movie in production. ....at least 10 video games and a major theatrical release called Ordinal Scale. Alternative Gun Gale Online is supposed to be coming in April Btw. Don't we have a spot opening in April on Toonami? If Clover had come out at the perfect time, would it have had the same success?

SAO is actually the opposite of Black Clover in a way. While BC came into existence at a time when there was absolutely no appetite or patience for another generic Shonen, SAO came into being at exactly the PERFECT time for an Isekai anime.

A ton of characters live in the Manga. The ending isn't at all similar.

The lack of any world building is a fatal flaw for this series so far. Hiro is your typical indecisive beta male cuck MC and I don't find that interesting. Every character on the show aside from 02 is 100 percent disposable. There's really no reason for 02 to be interested in Hiro other than the fact he can ride with her and not die. They're gonna start killing these kids off soon and it's going to have no impact. I'm assuming that's why we're having these fluff episodes so early ....to try and make you care for these kids when they die but it just isn't working.

Its an anime review site, the biggest one basically. They have around 2 million members. It's a good measuring stick to see which anime are popular, and which anime are highly ranked, as in people actually think it's good. Unpopular anime can be highly rated sometimes, while popular anime can be terribly rated. A great example of this is SAO. Number 3 on popularity. 1198 on rank. This reflects the very divided opinion the public has on SAO. It's not perfect or anything but it's basically the best way to tell what the feelings of the public are towards a specific anime.

02 is the shows only redeeming feature at this point.

I didn't see any S2 eps of IBO but going on the first season.... no. No to both of those. To understand just how hated Black Clover is you have to look at its rank on MAL. 5313. People really hate this show. Even Dimension W pulled a 2359. Think about that. People consider BC to be THAT much worse than DW. S2 of TG which was considered an abomination even by fans of S1 beats BC easily, 1816. I personally think that BC is just very mediocre, and its insanely low rank on MAL is just backlash for arriving much too late in the game as a generic shonen.

He does the exact same thing in the final arc as well. Literally every fight he's in, and he's in TONS of fights in the final arc. It's just the ridiculous padding/ filler DBZ is known for taken to the extreme. Along with constant reaction shots of people watching him fight.

Like I said before, nothing about this show makes a lick of sense so far. These kids can't even handle seeing each other half naked without falling into total disarray and they're your master plan for saving your city? Might wanna think up a plan B. Oddly, the VA's for the dub are not Funimation's heavy hitters. They seem to be mostly people with very little experience. On further investigation this is actually a "Bang Zoom" Dub done from LA instead of Funimation's HQ in Texas. Hope they do good!

Yeah I remember generally liking most of the episodes. I think the Space Race ep was one of the highlights.
