  1. Legendary investor Warren Buffett has announced that Berkshire Hathaway will acquire Tesla for a staggering $1 trillion in cash. The 94-year-old “Oracle of Omaha,” long known for his disinterest in tech stocks and electric vehicles, reportedly contacted Elon Musk directly to make the unprecedented offer. “While I’ve publicly maintained that I don’t understand tech companies, I’ve secretly been driving a Cybertruck around my Nebraska neighborhood at night,” Buffett reportedly told investors on an early morning conference call on Tuesday, April 1. Perhaps most surprising is that Elon Musk has agreed to remain with the company, taking on the newly created role of “chief meme officer” while Buffett will personally oversee day-to-day operations.

  7. train? bus? i traveled by bus back and forth east/west so many times. suck ride if not packed correctly. (snacks water etc) and vt - d.c. quite a bit by train. and i want to say that was the vermonter? that's not a terrible ride at all. and a 11 years ago i took a train up to dc. it wasn't a terrible ride.

  9. damnit, this better not be any virtual signaling bullshit. i'm staying guarded...for now.
  10. advanced ....zoom, explore, whatever the program is for richers to put their kids in. our clases were seperated a/b in 6th and a/b/c/d in 7-8 all the richers were in a supposed to be advanced, smarter etc, i was in b, my step sister in a. she was dumb as a bag of rocks, as were most of the a kids. in my humble opinion, i thought all the smart kids were in b. anyway....going back to CinR, it seems those with some sort of pure and rightous sense of grandeious don't like the book. given the time period it was written, society had different norms in the 50/60 in the height of it's popularity, but if read during the 80/90's, it's dry, and whiny. maybe you loathe it so, because it calls you out on some hidden level you can't describe. or not. but the book itself is and was a 'rebel without a cause', for it's time. if one could read it without attributing what they know in today's society, and try to emerse themself what life was like back then, they might like it. think of it like 'leave it to beave' and wally gets pissed at the beav and ma and pop and sets off with eddie, who leaves him in the dust, so wally has to fend for himself, with cussing and sex.
  11. oh...there is nothing charitable about these fake ass christians here. i wish you'd come down...just for a long weekend. i'll show you 2 southern worlds. one where the reconstruction of 1864 is alive and well, and one that has moved past those obstacles and focuses on their city, tourism, and it's people.

  14. the 'farmers' (those that i mention farm to port, not for american consumption) are some of the biggest welfare queens to date. they make money when they fail this is from 2023, In 2023, the median income from farming for households operating commercial family farms was $167,550, with a median total household income of $253,496, while the median total household income for all farm households was $97,984, exceeding the median for all U.S. households 2. Subsidies: Federal farm subsidy programs can significantly impact farmer income. Examples of programs include: PLC (Price Loss Coverage) - $33 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33. Highly subsidized federal crop insurance - $101 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33. ARC (Agriculture Risk Coverage) - $19 billion in taxpayer costs projected for FY24-33. It's important to note that the vast majority of farmers do not benefit from federal farm subsidy programs, and the subsidies tend to go to the largest and most financially secure farm operations. this would be the industrial farmers - field to port not your farmers markets and those small farms that you see fail every year. 3. Tax Breaks: Farmers can benefit from various tax breaks, including: State Tax Credits . Renewable Energy Credits . Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credits . Earned Income Tax Credit for Farmers with Low Income . Conservation Expense Deductions . Depreciation . It's crucial to track all expenditures and understand taxable income and deductions. 4. Insurance Pay Outs: Farmers often rely on crop insurance to protect against losses due to natural disasters or other unforeseen events. The amount of insurance payouts can vary greatly depending on the type of crop, the location, and the severity of the event.
  15. eats 42 grains of rice per bite. yes, counts out 42 individual grains, places on spoon, consumes, rinse, repeat.
  16. Trump to Announce Country-Based Reciprocal Tariffs Wednesday now i'm REALLY interested in this. that is...i'm REALLY interested to see what ag and textile will be in this. congress approved an additional bailout for cotton growers here. in this area, it's 85$/acre of cotton, with most fields in the hundreds (you can maths), with additional support for failing market......m'kay. i'm going to take a wild guess and i would place bets that these "farmers" - and i do use that term loosely - that are field to port only will be hit hardest. i actually hope so. NOTHING stays in this country. nothing. cotton, peanutes, soy. next i would say vehicles for obvious reasons. and finally, i think beef. again...same "farms" raise cattle that is...you guessed it: farm to port only. NOTHING stays here. just adding my 2cents that absoulutly NO ONE but me asked for. lol
