LOL, you're objectively right. Damn those Nielsen ratings! And congratulations on not complaining for cynicism's sake. There are some good things about this reshuffling, such as Black Clover being rewarded with a higher slot, but it otherwise sucks. JoJo's at 3:00 a.m. is the most I've been slighted by a schedule change since the infamous One Piece deathslotting. The only reason I'm not more mad at it is because I have a DVR and can watch any show whenever I want. But to complain that others don't have them is classist, so I feel for people who have to miss shows because they can't stay up late. I never assumed this would be a joke because Toonami has announced actual news on the 1st, such as acquiring Hunter × Hunter, but they probably should've held off on this one to avoid upsetting people.

How fitting is it for this show that it doesn't get a thread at midnight for the one episode people genuinely love... and yet I wish that weren't the case. Man, where's all your respect?

Unfortunately, we're getting another round of double SAO before it for some reason, and they haven't even finalized the 4/13 schedule yet. What the heck is going on down there? If this show even makes it to air, enjoy how good it is.

If you'd pulled an all-nighter yesterday, you could've gotten to the PI article before anyone else. That fearless 4chan user who posted the ratings thread at 4:00 a.m. is, as the kids would say, braver than the troops.

It's a show from before my time. I mean... and no harm towards Poke for this, but if Toonami can air Dimension W, this one could feasibly make a comeback.

Eh... I intentionally know it's on, but don't watch. And that's only because I'm so behind on the shows.

Would Toonami Even Last that long Once DB Super Concludes?
Blatch replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Screw your stupid pessimism. Toonami has survived without any Dragon Ball before, and it could probably do so again. -
That's precisely why I wouldn't mind one at this time. Do it for either St. Patty's or Easter. That'll teach something to everyone complaining about marathons.

The OP has done nothing but shit up the joint for much of the time they've been here, so I wouldn't bother with a response even mildly pedantic. I do still think getting rid of most topicals was a good idea. There was never a good reason to do them for every premiere. That we're now back to the standard for 2017 and such, where DB Super and the most recent/noteworthy new show gets promoted every week, is a lot better than flooding the airwaves with promos that won't attract much viewership. Plus, it's good to get the Toonami name out there in advertising anyway.

This season of anime is probably the best season in several years.
Blatch replied to Sandstone's topic in Anime & Manga
It would be nice to have more LGBT representation in anime, but I'm not a dirty moralist who is unable to enjoy any shows because of the lack of it. And yeah, I'm a straight white male (albeit bi-curious), but I've also seen other people of sexual minorities who don't go on and on about how little there is for them. -
Crunchyroll and Toonami formally partner under WB umbrella
Blatch replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
That's probably it... although this theory has more to do with his general hatred of billionaires. It's a square peg I cut the edges off of to make fit. Sentai isn't really in bad shape. They've had a wide variety of their shows be borrowed by CR and vice versa with HIDIVE (like the fucking space fishing anime). Still, I really have to wonder what their place is in the industry right now, with Funi defiant and doing its own thing, and CR becoming an even bigger behemoth through joining forces with its corporate siblings. We probably would've heard of a Sentairoll deal being announced, but the fact that the last attempt with Funi ended up collapsing after a while would probably make either company weary. At this point, maybe the solution is for WarnerMedia to buy Sentai outright? It would be perfect for CR, as they would now have vertical integration for licensing shows, dubbing them (using Sentai's Seraphim Digital studios, assuming that they don't fall on Bang Zoom! for everything), and airing them on TV via Toonami. It's a bit of a crazy idea, but I think it can work. -
Here's the latest hot trickle: SAO took a(nother) hard fall, but Megalobox managed to make the tiniest of gains off it, which is cool. The numbers we're seeing suggest the block is still doing above average.

toonami Do you think Toonami has too much fantasy?
Blatch replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
The problem with this question is that it has too many variables and is too obtuse to answer. This block is airing shows like the Dragon Balls and Narutos that are such eclectic mixes of genres and are very hard to pin down. For instance, the former has the typical sci-fi elements of traveling through space/between universes and dimensions as well as alien races, but some of the aliens have powers that are in the realm of the fantastic. There are more casual elements of a fantasy thrown in as comedic relief, which I assume were more prominent in the first DB series, but I don't know for sure. Additionally, most arcs of Hunter × Hunter (I would except Greed Island) aren't fantasies. They're action-adventure stories with heavy supernatural elements (like JoJo's), and then you have Chimera Ant with its psychological thriller bent. -
Interesting... although this would go better in a thread about predictions, as this has more to do with rationalizing stuff that happened before. I guess I could see it, even though I don't know why the show is getting a new season when people hated the last one and the new movie that recently came out (the first in a trilogy) was tepidly recieved. Anyway, here's my offering: Children Who Chase Lost Voices was offered to Toonami by Sentai for a ridiculously cheap price, if not free. It was also meant to be an olive branch to them so more shows could air on TV, but that ultimately didn't take.

The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 15 to 20 Mizutama Honey Boy 0 (one shot) to 2 I thought the title of that manga was for something different than I ended up starting, but I thought the premise was interesting enough for me to carry on.
