The last rerun slot doesn't matter anyway. If a fan of IBO wants to rewatch it, they've probably already bought the Blu-rays and are doing so now.

I've become really angry and cynical about the industry lately, although the #KickVic thing actually has little to do with it. I'm mostly miffed about Crunchyroll's decision to keep promoting that Shield Hero crap, to the point where I totally deleted my account with them. I'm wondering if I should ever give them my money again... but I'll cave eventually. It's just really sad to see everything come to this.

It has more to do with the natural degradation of Toonami's ratings over time. Comparing Alicization to the last season, which aired in the revived block's highest-rated year, is just unfair.

The pacing was tolerable for me. Do you think it would've worked better as two episodes? The reason they made the premiere extra long is probably because the first half was something different that would've confused people without context, but I thought it would've made a great cliffhanger.

When you're presented with a giant pile of evidence suggesting that Vic did at least most of this, you should feel empathy for the victims. Claiming neutrality and blaming both sides is a bad tactic has to do with the conservative mindset invalidating the experiences of others that don't affect you. It could also be based off of someone's incapability to take a stand on anything that has even a whiff of politics, but that's a bizarre trait I haven't seen anywhere else. Now, the funny thing is when "anti-SJWs" try to claim that I'm enforcing my morality on others. I am, and rather proudly, but I'm not trying to be militant about it... which is something I can't say for the other side.

I haven't actively used Tumblr in years. Heck, I only logged back on there to see what the reactions were to the NSFW content ban. Anyway, the Toonami blog stopped being relevant years ago. Remember when it used to host live Q/As and be the first place where new shows were announced? Then it slowly moved away from that and turned into a hive for reposting cool images. I understand the decision to close it as trimming the fat, just like with the marathon stream's demise.

I'm under the impression that Vic's employers always knew. It was probably at least an open secret for so long that someone wanted to do something, but were either too scared or got blocked by higher management. It should also be emphasized that that it took the previous scandal with Hazu for someone to even make a move on this. This thread from a former ANN staffer details the pain some of them felt from knowing they'd been taken advantage of by a predator. What we're seeing here is the changing attitudes of those who realized they could've done more, as they become empathetic for survivors and want to get their abusers brought to justice. I think that's what we should be focusing on, rather than pointing the finger at those who were complicit in enabling sex crimes for years.

Alternative was pretty good... but everyone ignored it like the plague after seeing how underwhelming Progressive turned out.

The most important thing is that the isekai with the false rape accusation is #1, so Toonami will have no choice but to air it.
-
Are we confused at every single thing that happens nowadays? What weakness. The ratings are decent, but seeing everyone lose their minds over the recent episode of Mob Psycho (from Season 2) is really making me wish it got to air on Toonami immediately. And it's even sadder because I completely whiffed on the the first season's TV airing.

They wouldn't, but the average casual [as] viewer might be intrigued and tune in. And we have a general interest in the ratings for the whole network around here.

Okay, two things: It looks like the backdoor schedule is officially finally dead. The XML links no longer work, so the "enhanced backdoor" just shows the current list from [as]. You can still look ahead with cable guides, though, so this just means we're back to the dark ages of 2012-14 or so. Reruns of Adventure Time are replacing Samurai Jack (and a half-hour of [as] originals) starting February 4. This isn't a bamboozle; DeMarco personally confirmed it.

Or you can stand up for what you believe in and not mind losing a friend or two. I've started ignoring people for less.

Hazukari. I originally followed him because he was in a circle of popular anime people, but the others disowned him quickly after allegations started to spread.

Toonami U.S. Trending Report Screencaps Thread
Blatch replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Related to this, has anyone else seen that trends related to K-pop show up in the trending bar ridiculously often? I guess it's really popular here, to the point of getting huge displays in my local comic book stores and such. But my main point is, how have they managed to game the system so they can show up in the top 10 constantly? That was happening with Toonami for a while and then abruptly stopped, which might be due to an algorithm change. -
Actually, it's more because a prominent member of Twitter's anime community got outed as a hideous rapist and overall creep, which caused some people to question everyone in their atmosphere. I followed the guy, and I was crestfallen to see it unfold in real time.

This is reminding me of what the block turned into in 2015: fewer hours, almost no reruns, and a new season of Sword Art in the middle. But this time, the fandom is more toxic.
