  1. No schedule change regarding reruns has ever been bad (at least if it's in the back half), but they probably should've done Unicorn. This could be a sign that Toonami isn't done with Gundam yet, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Also, they're now spelling Megalo( )Box's title differently. I guess it's an improvement.
  2. The ratings aren't dead. They've achieved something closer to immortality, being strung up mostly on the whims of Turner's PR department.
  3. I've heard good things about this one. Aside from being heavy on the science, another gimmick it has is an MC who's an unabashed misanthrope. I think they have Subaru's seiyuu lined up to play him, which would be an excellent fit.
  4. Ostensibly, it had a rough start, but that didn't stop the fanbase from growing. The show is seemingly more popular now than it's been at any point.
  5. This implies that Megalo Box won't replace AoT. Is this where your theory of that show's dub being delayed comes from?
  6. I've seen that same point used for MHA and other, more well-liked shonen, but nobody gives a shit. Really, Black Clover's original sin has nothing to do with the show itself, but the hatedom that sprung from it. In these people's minds, after they watched a few episodes of the show, they didn't care if it got any better. To them, it'd always be the one with the screamo protagonist, a boring world that amounts to Naruto with magic, and the same generic shonen plots. And yet these points, especially the last one, are a major draw to the show for many, while the downsides have been mitigated over er time. I feel like I've typed this all before, but either way, it's a shame. I see no reason to argue with the haters if they can't stop regurgitating the same tired arguments.
  7. It was the most popular show on Crunchyroll the season it premiered, to the point where it was their first series ever to top all 50 U.S. states. The show has always had fans, and its fandom has only gotten bigger with time. While it's clear that Toonami probably aired it because the Japanese companies were begging anyone to give to it a shot, it's not as if that was a bad idea.
  8. The idea that something should air on Toonami just because it'll get good ratings needs to die. I don't want any show to air for any reason other than because it's actually good.
  9. Planet With #12 (END) [beset by creatures of the deep]
  10. "They" meaning ProgrammingInsider. I expected the ratings to come out late this week for some reason (Veterans Day), but I don't think it's happened in any year.
  11. I'm under the impression that we'd see another big block cut like in 2015 in that case. The [as] management really wants this block to succeed, so they'd give it a bunch of leverage before actually cancelling it. On the other hand, it's possible that TV ratings might degenerate so much in the time until DB Super ends that they won't even need a show which does that well... if they haven't already.
  12. How did we go from thinking MB would premiere early to this?
  13. The first time I watched the show, this was one of the biggest complaints I had. It was a huge deviation from something that was literally called "Japan's version of The Walking Dead", and it made me wonder how much the stakes actually were in the plot. At least I warmed up to it over time. While I tried to get into AoT again after having been pleasantly surprised by the last season, I crapped out after two episodes. I've since set a goal that I want to (re)watch the entire series up to here by the time the next batch of episodes starts in April. It should be fun.
  14. I'm under the impression that we're stuck with them. Are there any other really popular and well-regarded websites that do anime reviews?
  15. Nichijou #8 Akuma no Memumemu-chan Zombieland Saga #1 (rewatch) Shirobako #1
  16. I like doing that, if only because it's typically a cheaper price you pay at once and don't have to worry about for a while. The biggest reason why I haven't joined VRV (aside from me not being a binging content fiend) is because they don't have that option.
  17. It's crazy to me that seemingly every Toonami premiere, regardless of if it's big, gets topicals now... but on the other hand, they've all been pared down to less than thirty seconds.
  18. Now that's just weird. There's no reason why they can't switch the dates. At least Megalo Box isn't affected, and it seems they're sticking to their guns (and my personal prediction) of premiering it on the 8th.
  19. If you haven't realized it yet, that's before Thanksgiving, and it implies there could be another marathon the week after. Personally, I'd love that, but I'm probably in the minority.
  20. This is an obvious choice for a rerun. Heck, I wonder how it'd do if they put it at 3:30 as a buffer to the [as] comedy.
  21. You've started saying this every week the ratings come out. How come you can't you lower your expectations like everyone else?
  22. I already have the full chart, courtesy of ProgrammingInsider. It seems they've posted it almost as early, if not earlier than other sites.
  23. Maybe he got that idea from Joseph Joestar?
  24. I'd love to know what the eggplant-headed girl was doing. For that matter, was she actually real, or was someone dreaming it? This show sure loves to throw weird stuff out and not explain it at all.
  25. What about offensive gay caricatures? Does this work not have any?
