*** BREAKING FUCKIN' NEWS *** Memories of Phantasm lives! To celebrate 15 years since the show was announced, we're getting a new episode! And it's even called "Part 1", which means it's possible we'll get even more! That's a different Marisa than you're used to. I heard her design is reminiscent of another Touhou doujin series... a video game series, that is. No updates on either of the other in-progress fanime, although A Summer Day's Dream did get some postcards with new art on them. Episode 5 of that one is coming; Hifuu Club E3P2 soon also. I haven't spoiled myself on Fossilized Wonders yet. Gonna have to play the demo a few more times before I go whole hog.

Touhou Fantasy Kaleidoscope ~The Memories of Phantasm~ 1 Fossilized Wonders is out in Japan, so it's time to become obsessed with this franchise again.

Holo no Grafitti 325/326 Shrine of the Morning Mist 4

Shrine of the Morning Mist 2/3 (pretty sure the latter is new) Very happy I'm finally getting around to watching this in full. I've been ostensibly meaning to do it as prep for my original anime concept, which will have a shrine maiden as the main character. Also nice to get the content ratings muscles working again. That next omnibus will be out... at some point. I need to start rewatching Vden next.

The Naked Gun (2025) - 4.5/5 A five-alarm comedic ripper. I thought the funniest gag was the series of visual innuendos in Frank's apartment (the biggest pops in the theater were for that and the jab at O.J.), though I'm also partial to the advertisements that played before the security cam footage. Gotta buy some Muscle Slime.

The last thing I saw in IMAX was Pink Floyd's Pompeii concert film. Fun to watch stuff like that on a larger-than-life screen, and I wouldn't mind doing it with anime.

Just think: We're getting Gigi in these things soon! Oh, and a late addition: Fuwamoco's 2nd anniversary stream.

Holo no Graffiti 323/324 So this is what the new Haato sounds like? Intriguing if so. I actually mostly wanted to get those out to acknowledge some things: We just passed the 20th anniversary of the original Idolm@ster arcade game's release, and next week, it'll mark 10 years since I did the first of my review posts for Squid Girl! This has me in the mood to do something special... but maybe not involving content ratings. I was thinking of actually rewatching these shows and doing all-new reviews for 'em, maybe downplaying the plot in favor of critical anaylsis now that I think of it. Or I could do new stuff, like finally get around to finishing those Cinderella Girls reviews (funny story about that franchise). Once I get some other stuff dealt with, I'll figure it out. [...ocd permitting]

I've only seen a little bit of the packaging, but for my money, it slaps. My favorite Toonami look of all time is the one they had in 2014-15, with the minimalist graphics on a black background. This one feels like a fusion of that and the 2018 style (which accompanied the first round of FLCL sequels), using green accents and a circular motif. It's super clean and feels like it belongs on the biggest screen possible.
