See if you can play something from your computer through it.. You can pull up the troubleshooting window in the control panel and troubleshoot audio.. driver problems can screw up audio playback. Does the tv have volume when it's not connected to the pc?

What kind of tv isn't gonna give you a sound output right out of the box?

I scared the piss out of my cat the other day by accident.. look I'm not a cat person ok, and I didn't know the loud noise I made angerly would trigger THAT level of tramatic response.. dudes ok though.. HE wont be begging for scraps or canned cat food again though prolly XD.
