See if you can play something from your computer through it.. You can pull up the troubleshooting window in the control panel and troubleshoot audio.. driver problems can screw up audio playback. Does the tv have volume when it's not connected to the pc?

sounds defective.. unless it came with a sound bar or something to b used with it idk.

What kind of tv isn't gonna give you a sound output right out of the box?
