  1. Is a member of the cabal that is keeping the doily industry alive.
  2. Tried some chicken and biscuits from Bojangles. Not bad. Felt like I got a decent amount of chicken for what I paid, which is more than I can say for virtually every other chicken place I've been to lately. Five piece tender baskets are usually a 2 piece someone cut thin and charged more for these days. Plus they seasoned their chicken so it was nice to not have the neurodivergent chicken tendies experience where all the flavor is shoved into a pittance of a sauce pack.
  3. Garlic powder, onion powder, Hungarian paprika with a pinch of Kosher salt. Or just add kewpie to the ketchup at a 1:2 ratio.
  4. Lost my mind and bought over 100 games on Steam. Been trying out lots of stuff and beat a few along the way. Balatro: Admittedly I thought this was a nothing burger of a game but it's quickly becoming my most played. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart: Beat this one already, what a gorgeous, fun little game. Shame it was so short. Hogwarts Legacy: This has been fine. Feels like it will become repetitive and I doubt I will do a second playthrough, much less go for 100%. Waited for this to drop way down in price. Wolfenstein New Order: Solid little game. Story got slightly weird in a bad way but this was good. Beat this one, as well. Wolfenstein II The New Colossus: Gameplay is fine, story is just stupid as fuck and gives me whiplash like a motherfucker. Ballionaire: This is like a more brutal, less fun Balatro, but I like it ok! Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth: Cool story, feels like it kinda plays itself tho lol City of Beats: This one has been pretty hard. Orbital Bullet: Awesome concept, love this one. Ghost of Tsushima: Solid yet punishing gameplay loop. Amazing setting, too. Reminds me of how much I dislike how often Sony games interrupt you for cutscenes. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Worth the hype. Good stuff.

    Steam Deck

Was on the fence about buying one of these vs a competitor's handheld. Wound up getting an ASUS ROG Ally. Came down to a few factors, mostly ease of emulation and access to all my game launchers. ASUS edged out the Steam deck for me and I got mine for a $150 discount so I am over the moon about that. Had it for about a week. Super impressed with it tbh. I played a fair few games to see how everything ran and outside of a little stuttering upon launch of newer, more graphically intense games, it's been running like a dream. I got it a dock, as well, so I can quickly charge it and plug it into my router and download everything super fast, but I ran it on my TV as well with an Xbox controller and it was breezy. It's a little irritating having to swap settings between games so frequently but since it's literally as easy as hitting one button and swapping a few things around I can live with that. The 3 most demanding games I have played were Fortnite, Hogwarts, and Indiana Jones. Obviously these chunked the battery quick, fast, and in a hurry at max settings but it ran so well I didn't mind at all. Even got an Anker 737 to keep me going for longer, which has yet to happen and this has mostly been a very expensive accessory my girlfriend thinks is exclusively to charge her phone lol
  6. Jellybean Mochi Bear Churro Mousse Truffle Bonbon Last three aren't home with us just yet but we adopted them and will be picking them up next month.
  7. Been using ribeye trimmings and cooking them up and tossing them into a tortilla with mixed cheeses, garlic butter drizzle, and fries and turning that into a sort of Cali quesadilla. I've had it a few times now and I want to add more but it's already so filling as is. Seems like the best food is always repurposed leftovers and scraps.
  8. Tried something super janky but it really worked out for me. Seasoned some pork butt and covered it in slightly diluted BBQ sauce I made and cooked it for 10 hours on slow in the crockpot. Shredded it then let it rest and cooldown. Put a thin layer in the air fryer, so nothing stacked on anything else, and drizzled with more BBQ sauce and made burnt ends. Charred up really well. Had that with some garlic and herb mash. Will absolutely be doing this again. And have some ribeyes I cut at work:
  9. Got it a couple nights ago, already put like 6 hours into it. Been a blast. Gameplay loop is basically:
  10. I remember when I first saw the trailer for this. At the time I thought it was a cash grab, ruining the ending from the 3rd film. The spork character didn't help. But when I actually saw it, I had to admit it was far and away the best of the series. Had no right to be good at all, tbh, but it won me over pretty quickly.
  11. I have the Trigun ones https://imgur.com/a/J0rdD
  12. I hear this kind of rhetoric a lot from dumb fucks that bought into their employer's bullshit and made it a source of pride to stay somewhere shitty for so long. Maybe those "lazy people" just decided it wasn't worth it after a single summer stint in dookie town and moved on to greener pastures.
  13. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - 5/10 Expected more and appreciated them getting around a problematic actor but keeping the character in the movie but overall just felt like 2 movies smashed together, building up into a whiplash of anticlimactic finales. Longlegs - 4/10 I wanted to like this and just as the villain was getting interesting it all just came to a screeching halt. Oh well. Speak no Evil - 6/10 This was fine. Left me wanting for more, but it was fine. Saturday Night - 6/10 Chaotic whiplash for the pacing. The movie itself is funnier than the material presented on SNL's debut episode. They simply had not discovered comedy at the time, but the gears were turning. Time Cut - 1/10 What a piece of shit. Props for the weird, early 2000s set pieces that were hilariously wrong at times. The Remarkable Life of Ibelin - 8/10 Documentary about a WoW player that had a degenerative muscular disease and died young. On the surface it seems like there is not much story to tell here but this was a heavyhitter. You do not need to know anything about WoW or even video games to watch this but I will warn you it's an actual tearjerker. Alien Romulus - 7/10 Nothing too crazy here but not bad! Trap - 6/10 I heard this was a terrible movie that was a vessel for Saleka Shyamalan but it was really not bad. Josh Hartnett hard carried this movie, though. Twisters - 2/10 Nuke this piece of shit from orbit. What a pile of fucking garbage. Glen Powell is the only person on screen, ever, with any charisma and this is an almost painful watch at times.
  14. Made some sweet chili chicken thighs in the crockpot, seared 'em a bit first, with some rice. I can't find my go to brands for Thai Hom Mali so I got another one with elephants on it. Not quite as good on its own like my usual but good enough. Plus it was like $17 for a 20lb bag so I'm fine with that. Took the leftover rice and added in some butter, cumin, Mexican oregano, ground achiote, and some other spices and then mixed that in with some chipotle and garlic ground beef taco meat I made and some queso to make burritos.
