Didn't care for Breath of the Wild, tbh. Felt like an empty open world I was supposed to use as a sandbox to make my own fun. That's all good and well but it just ended up being annoying. And god I hated the weapon durability. Been playing Tears of the Kingdom off and on and I enjoy it more but it still just reeks of an above average game with a couple gimmicks. That being said, I like the new powers better than the last ones and I like making Looney Tunes ass shit to zip around or Wile E. Coyote my enemies. Done two temples so far, and both bosses were absurdly easy to beat while the road to reaching them was more perilous or obnoxious than the final fights themselves.

I made probably a couple of hundred posts in various places about how I think Legato Bluesummers and Kakashi Hatake were my bishis and were the perfect couple. While I was banned on the Toriyama's World IRC room, [adult swim] did not ban me and, as luck would have it, all of my cringey teenage yaoi posting sprees were deleted. After that I calmed down and floated around, eventually spending most of my time in IB until I started working with CJ and later Humbug. At that point I spent most of my time working on various little things on the site and while I read many a post, I was a hardcore lurker. Don't think I even had 1,000 posts listed on my main tag when the forums were taken down but I had something in the millions of minutes logged in. I found friends on the forum and used the website daily, but I opted to use things like Chatzy, AIM/YIM or video game online services to do the bulk of my actual conversing.

Holes Master and Commander I think comedy movies imploded this year before rising from the ashes like a phoenix in 2004.

You should pass on ever watching it tbh. Even without Yasuke, it's just such a middling experience at best. It was probably someone's spec script that they slapped Yasuke's name on to get it produced. Happens all the time. They need a script post haste and someone mad scientist on it and slaps whatever IP or whatever onto it and off they go into production. Another great, recent example of this is the Halo show. Fuck all to do with the games or books. Show runner seemed proud they didn't even play or read them. End product becomes this weirdly soulless product with no real identity. If you were a fan before or you were familiar with whomever or whatever it was about, you end up disappointed, and if you're coming in fresh, it's background noise you forget right after you watch it. Junk food you only buy once kinda deal.

Makes me think about Yasuke, the real-life, black samurai that served under Oda Nobunaga for a short time. Netflix greenlights a show about him, and it winds up being one of the most mediocre anime I have ever watched and had almost nothing to do with Yasuke. Like it's about some magical bullshit and there's some Russian bear woman and a little girl that's the real main character and is learning how to use her magic powers and they have mechs and it's all just so fucking stupid. In truth, very little is known about Yasuke, and had he not gotten the attention of Nobunaga, we likely would have never heard of him. While that leaves his life as being basically a giant, blank canvas, I can't accept that this mid tier ass anime is what we got from that. I'd rather they have Yasuke stay in the country after Nobunaga dies and have him link up with Tokugawa and Toyotomi to get revenge for Akechi's betrayal that led to Nobunaga's death. Let Yasuke stay with the unifiers of Japan all the way up until Sekigahara and witness the unification of Japan. Russian bear women? Mechs? Magical little Mary Sue girls? Jesse, what the fuck are you talking about?? What a fucking waste.

Dad played Randy Travis a lot. Any Randy Travis is too much in my book, but I think even somebody that was randy for some Travis would have lost their fucking minds due to the frequency at which my father played that shit. But what do I expect from some swamp-billy that would legitimately jam out to some Harry Chapin song about some stupid fucking truck spilling tens of thousands of pounds of bananas and tell me all the good music that will ever exist has already been made and then backpedal on that every time he heard new music, especially any time Brad Paisley released a new song involving product placement.
