Got it a couple nights ago, already put like 6 hours into it. Been a blast. Gameplay loop is basically:

I remember when I first saw the trailer for this. At the time I thought it was a cash grab, ruining the ending from the 3rd film. The spork character didn't help. But when I actually saw it, I had to admit it was far and away the best of the series. Had no right to be good at all, tbh, but it won me over pretty quickly.

I've seen my share of bosses like this.

I hear this kind of rhetoric a lot from dumb fucks that bought into their employer's bullshit and made it a source of pride to stay somewhere shitty for so long. Maybe those "lazy people" just decided it wasn't worth it after a single summer stint in dookie town and moved on to greener pastures. -
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - 5/10 Expected more and appreciated them getting around a problematic actor but keeping the character in the movie but overall just felt like 2 movies smashed together, building up into a whiplash of anticlimactic finales. Longlegs - 4/10 I wanted to like this and just as the villain was getting interesting it all just came to a screeching halt. Oh well. Speak no Evil - 6/10 This was fine. Left me wanting for more, but it was fine. Saturday Night - 6/10 Chaotic whiplash for the pacing. The movie itself is funnier than the material presented on SNL's debut episode. They simply had not discovered comedy at the time, but the gears were turning. Time Cut - 1/10 What a piece of shit. Props for the weird, early 2000s set pieces that were hilariously wrong at times. The Remarkable Life of Ibelin - 8/10 Documentary about a WoW player that had a degenerative muscular disease and died young. On the surface it seems like there is not much story to tell here but this was a heavyhitter. You do not need to know anything about WoW or even video games to watch this but I will warn you it's an actual tearjerker. Alien Romulus - 7/10 Nothing too crazy here but not bad! Trap - 6/10 I heard this was a terrible movie that was a vessel for Saleka Shyamalan but it was really not bad. Josh Hartnett hard carried this movie, though. Twisters - 2/10 Nuke this piece of shit from orbit. What a pile of fucking garbage. Glen Powell is the only person on screen, ever, with any charisma and this is an almost painful watch at times.

Made some sweet chili chicken thighs in the crockpot, seared 'em a bit first, with some rice. I can't find my go to brands for Thai Hom Mali so I got another one with elephants on it. Not quite as good on its own like my usual but good enough. Plus it was like $17 for a 20lb bag so I'm fine with that. Took the leftover rice and added in some butter, cumin, Mexican oregano, ground achiote, and some other spices and then mixed that in with some chipotle and garlic ground beef taco meat I made and some queso to make burritos.

Not too far off from what happened with me. I had some weird interest in the concept of yaoi and would recklessly pair off two random anime dudes and then talk people's heads off about how awesome that couple would be. Got me banned from the IRC room on Toriyama's World. I was going by kakashixlegato at the time and was already on the [adult swim] website for the games so I ended up joining day 1 when the forums launched and continued on my bullshit. Didn't get banned on there mostly because I could be more easily ignored and I didn't quite grasp how a message board worked at the time so I'd just ransack threads with drive by +1s about my "bishies" and be on my way to terrorize the next user. I was 13 when the forums opened to the public and god bless the circumstances that led to the majority of my old posts being deleted. Kinda cooled down by late 2004 and just started lurking the actual boards themselves but I'd yap like a motherfucker on chatzy and YIM.

HS reunion around the corner: part deux
GunStarHero replied to molarbear's topic in General Discussion
My 10 year reunion was a few years ago. I was considering going but decided to ask the few people I would have cared to see if any of them were going. None of them were. Incidentally, anyone I cared to be in contact with at all, I had kept up with. When the reunion itself happened I was curious and checked the FB page, which has long since been deleted, and saw it was maybe a couple dozen people out of the hundreds I graduated with. Nothing against anyone that went but they all appeared just be people that had never left the city, much less the state, since graduation. Kinda wonder if an impromptu Waffle House meeting wouldn't have accomplished the same. -

Avengement - 7/10 First time I saw the summary and thumbnail I thought this would be substandard action trash, but Scott Adkins has done some good work so I gave it a shot. Glad I did. This movie was made with two distinctly different audiences in mind: the yoked up fitness orcs that sustain themselves on mindless violence and bad boy vibes and fans of campy movies which it achieves with a sort of turn and wink at the viewer style. Not a lot of depth to this one; this is just a fun movie. Would recommend watching this with a couple other people for a good time.
