  4. It took me forever to realize this was not an attack on Jarvis Cocker's band
  5. Working on my smize
  6. Anybody else participating? Are you a planner, pantser, or plantser? Personally, I use NaNo to force myself to simply write more, to boost an old project or get a headstart on a new one. This year I'm working on a YA ghost story told from the perspective of a high school girl obsessed with punk music. Its working title, though not a punk song, is taken from the Talking Heads: "Houses In Motion"
  7. King has actually one of my favorite books about writing. Even if you're not a fan of his work, On Writing is regarded highly and wonderfully accessible.
  8. Lunch
  9. Any feelings I had for any superhero movie diminished immediately after the first few Marvel films. A few piqued my interest for reasons beyond superheroes (directors I like, usually) but I am at the point of skipping them.
  10. It's a house tho. They pay the lease. I live in a room. I'm going with housemates
  11. I'd be dead to my housemates if I didn't. Both of them have pored their whole being into every production. And both are studied and well-acclaimed and take risks. I have too much respect for both them to miss a damned thing
  12. Vladimir: What about a little deep breathing? Estragon: I'm tired breathing Me, listening: same
  13. Also I keep hearing "Pull up your trousers" from somebody I know pretty well and it gives the line a lot more humor than usual
  14. No but the theater wants to dedicate an exclusive parking space to him, in front of the store that hates the theater owners and goers
  15. I'm not watching, but I'm listening, and it's cool hearing where my housemate adds notes as the director. It sheds way more light on the play than I'd get from reading it alone, as I'd done previously, and also asking for feedback from the actors, and if they want to do something different. It makes the piece feel much more open and malleable than reading it.
  16. It's a very famous play by Samuel Beckett. It's good, dark, poignant humor. Basically, two men are waiting for godot, who never shows, and they try painfully to interact with one another
  17. Bappy Hirthday!
  18. Follow autonomousbagel They're a pretty bad literary Twitter bitch
  19. Berberian Sound Studio, which so far is more about a foley artist working on a Giallo film more than it is actual horror. But I love slow, enticing build-up, so who knows what will become of all this screaming and vegetable ripping and smashing
  20. Maybe Germans have balloons in bags of 99. Maybe the sound of "ninety-nine" complements the melody significantly well, and so they went with it.
  21. I'm excited
