Traveling to AWP tomorrow in an effort to pitch my manuscript/meet some of my favorite writers/catch up with peers and people who have published my work. Did this in 2017, in DC, but this time I have no affiliation, and am in a city I barely know

I mean, I can't blame you for that last part. The relief that all is well when I expect the worst is pretty satisfying, even if taxing.

To answer, I always do at least 15. I work in the industry and even a modest amount tip-wise is super appreciated. As a worker, I try not to get hung up on amount specifics, even if if isn't ten percent.

Been meaning to set a schedule for doing livestreams, to make it routine and build a regular audience. Excited to see what you do, though!

Do you tell them why you're asking for the manager? Could just be me, but even as the manager, I panic when somebody wants to address somebody with some rank, even if the customer's inflection is pleasant and positive. Better yet, do you tell them personally how well theyre doing? That sort of thing makes my day so much better much faster.

I lived in New Hampshire, where the road often suddenly becomes this after quarter a mile of nice paved roads. On a road bike, it sucks. Also, even back in Washington, this is mostly what my relatives lived on. This picture specifically reminds me of Liberty, Washington.

Not close, but connected by good food in an old town

With so many restaurants called Old Town, I always wonder if people live close to me.

Not sure if momocon is bigger or smaller. Small conventions are a perfect place to get real trashed on booze whole cosplaying. The security is more lax for sure. You also meet pretty much everybody, easier to meet friends and make connections. Have fun! Conventions are a godsend.
