I'm so glad I've already been past the point of not wanting to deal with the fuckery of traditional publishing again. I would not want to be in the spot of trying to figure out my career now because everything is so much harder, especially when it comes to getting data. The goal posts keep changing so what's relevant now could be useless in a few months. Oh, you signed with a publisher because of the awesome editor they have who helped your book become a bestseller? Well shucks. That editor quit after the publisher lowered their pay and doubled their work. Have fun being on hiatus from 1-6 months as they wait to assign you another overworked editor. The unpredictable timetable totz won't piss off readers and affect your sales. I think the fuck not. Also thinking about how you guys might not see me for a while. The serial writing thing is doing better numbers than I predicted, and I like money so I gotta be laser focused now. Don't like burn the place down or whatever.

Your white passing ass does not get to dictate what classifies as a race fucking issue involving black folks. Chris Rock chose to insult a black woman's appearance on a night specifically meant to superficially gas us up. That was coon behavior on top of other shit that Buddy already posted about. What you need to understand is that like a lot of folks in the gay and trans communities, black women are just as fucking tired of the endless jokes used to dehumanize us. Watching one of the few black women with a seat in that room get mocked in front of millions instead of just being allowed to be beautiful while other women got that grace was painful. It was a reminder that no matter what the situation is, we'll be kicked down. It doesn't matter if the Crown Act passing the House made the news, it doesn't matter if Will Packer was in charge of the ceremony that night, y'all still managed to humiliate a black woman on national television. Then after finding out Jada has alopecia, was an apology issued to her from the Academy or Rock? Nope. Crickets. And while you're talking out the side of your neck to a black woman about how I should feel about this, you're also talking to someone who is disabled so don't put fucking words into my mouth. That was mocking a person's medical condition in front of millions with a mindset there wasn't really anything Jada could do in that setting to defend herself. That's why Chris Rock just stood there for so long when Will Smith walked up to him. Will was supposed to play nice for the white folks and the cameras, but it didn't work out like that. I wish that slap had been harder, but I admit to being biased because at MedHold at Boot Camp, all of us were the butt of jokes by TIs who publicly mocked us knowing there was no way to verbally or physically defend ourselves. I also know many people with visible disabilities who refuse to go to comedy shows because they're easy targets to hacks who have no empathy whatsoever. Some people take joy from being cruel, and you don't get exempted if you're a comedian. If you want to say some fucked up shit, then accept the fact you might get popped in the face.

Sooooo...my family has been going through the drama of my grandma recently being diagnosed with dementia. We put her in a new care facility out of assisted living where there was a major problem that we had to file a complaint with the state(place went to shit during the pandemic). My grandma became very underweight from neglect, and it wasn't easy to communicate with her. At the new place, she's eating again and can talk so well that the staff were beginning to question whether or not a locked memory loss ward was suitable for her. She was wandering when she first arrived, but now that she's receiving way better care, her mind has returned a lot of its sharpness. Now, the other folks in the dementia ward are getting on her damn nerves. They're wandering into her room and taking her things. Not to steal-steal, but just because that's evidently a thing with folks with advanced dementia. My grandma hasn't had the mental capacity to use her caption phone in several months, but this month she painstakingly relearned how to use it so she could complain to my mom about her missing things at 4 a.m. She's almost completely deaf but rejected my mom's multiple attempts to get her a cellphone, so a caption phone, paper and pen, or a whiteboard are like the only ways to communicate with her. This is why even though the care is pretty great, there's still communication problems like a new law being passed so a lot of the personal items had to be removed from dementia wards and placed in storage on the premises. The new law wasn't explained well to my grandma so she thinks someone swiped a lot of her stuff while at the same time there's a persistent interloper who comes in her room like at 3 a.m. The care facility has worked with us to find solutions which is why we were in the process of trying to determine if my grandma's dementia hasn't developed as far as we thought it had. Well, we got a call today from the facility to let us know a very disappointing situation had happened. The persistent interloper entered my grandma's room again and...

*Sad face* I have nothing to celebrate with if he dies. Nothing but basic foods and drinks. Maybe that leftover cranberry ginger ale from Christmas Season will do. It's cheery. But what about food? Hmmmm.
