  1. Wow, this will be 4th and 5TH airings of the first 3 episodes! Meanwhile, Fena's like "I never got this treatment!" Also, it looks like this won't be Toonami, but plain ol' [as]. Fena has yet to air outside of Toonami, and may not. Black Lotus also joins the short list of Toonami original shows that have aired outside of Toonami which includes: Dragon Ball Super Samurai Jack My Hero Academia Naruto Shippuden and now Blade Runner: Black Lotus
  2. This thread shall serve as the discussion for the entire Black Friday Blade Runner Toonami Takeover!
  3. I actually like Yashahime, but if they had gotten anyone other than Alucard-mode Crispin Freeman to play Kirinmaru, it would probably suck. Erica Mendez as Towa and Kira Buckland as Setsuna are pretty cool too. Morgan Berry as Moroha as well. And of course it's great having David Kaye back as Sesshomaru. So, while there ARE exceptions (RIP Kirby Morrow), I'd say the voice cast saves Yashahime.
  4. That would be the textbook definition of "fuck you money". Somehow it should probably be illegal, but free enterprise yadda yadda yadda.
  5. My guess as to why they are doing this is that they CAN'T blow off Yashahime Season 1 yet. It has 3 episodes left, but it isn't time to air the final episode yet on 12/4. My theory is that the contract calls for one premiere airing per week or at a later date. This would mean: 6/26-10/9: Episodes 1-15 aired weekly as normal. 10/16-10/30: No episodes of Yashahime aired; entire schedule preempted for Fena/Batman event. 11/6: Episode 16, which was supposed to air 10/16, aired. 11/13: Episode 17, which was supposed to air 10/23, aired. 11/20: Episodes 18-19, which were supposed to air 10/30 & 11/6, aired. 11/27: Episodes 20-21, which were supposed to air 11/13 & 11/20, will air. 12/4: Episodes 22-23 could have been scheduled to air, as the earliest they could air was 11/27 and 12/4, but not episode 24, which can air 12/11 at the earliest. Since Food Wars runs out this weekend, and they have an extra slot and can't seem to double up on Shippuden or air it before 2 AM, they would need SOMETHING to fill that slot. So, my theory is we'll see a Season 1 concluding marathon of Yashahime from 12:30-2 AM either on 12/11 or 1/1/22.
  6. "On Adult Swim, BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS was at 0.11 compared to last week’s 0.12/0.11, and the rest of the line-up was as follows: YASHAHIME at 0.09/0.09 compared to last week’s 0.11, NARUTO down 0.04 to 0.07, FOOD WARS down 0.02 to 0.08, FENA down 0.04 to 0.06/105K, DR STONE down 0.03 to 0.06/99K, and DRAGON BALL down 0.02 to 0.07/129K." Think of this as "before". This week's Toonami Saturday lineup (kinda crazy that I have to disambiguate, huh!?) will be exactly the same. The difference is in the lead-in: last week had 2x Naruto Shippuden; 2x American Dad; and 2x Rick & Morty. This week, that will be 2x King of the Hill and 4x American Dad. We'll see if that gives a boost to Toonami on College Football Rivalry Week!
  7. The double-shot of Yashahime didn't do Toonami any favors: https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-11-20-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html #52 and #54 respectively, with a 0.9 in 18-49 and much fewer than 200K viewers each. And of course the rest of Toonami just went downhill from there. At least Blade Runner: Black Lotus made the list at #40 with a respectable 226K and 0.11 in adults 18-49.
  8. Sesshomaru's whole character arc is to become less of an asshole. He's clearly this franchise's Vegeta.
  9. And that's surprising in a show with the ability to make people's clothes fly off them just by tasting food how?
  10. Teamwork makes the dream work... ...but Soma doesn't want to dream about success!
  11. Season 17, Episode 2! The 10 Tails has just awakened, and all hell's about to break loose! Is it too late for Naruto, Bee, and Kakashi to stop Obito and Madara's scheme? Find out tonight at 2 AM! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  12. It's a full hour of demon bounty huntin' dream butterfly seekin' supernatural good time... ...even if it admittedly really doesn't make much sense! 12:30 AM tomorrow night (11/20-21/2021). ONLY TOONAMI!!
  13. Episode 3: The Human Condition Dive deeper into Elle's world tomorrow night (11/20-21/2021) at midnight! Is she a Replicant or what? Find out tomorrow night--maybe! Only TOONAMI!!
  14. It's completely bizarre, but I think it's quite possible at this point we see a 3-episode Season 1 finale of Yashahime on December 4/5th, followed by a 3-episode premiere of The Second Act on December 11/12th!
  15. Not even a peep about this from Toonami Faithful on Twitter. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. Found this interesting: http://www.ratingsryan.com/2021/11/top-200-cable-reruns-week-ending_15.html?m=1 Looks like the Rick & Morty episode which aired before MHA on 11/6 was actually the highest-rated Adult Swim rerun of the week! Even in post-Family Guy [as], it's clear to see that's Toonami's value! Back to last week.. "On Adult Swim, BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS was at 0.12/0.11, and the rest of the line-up was as follows: YASHAHIME steady at 0.11, NARUTO up 0.01 to 0.11, FOOD WARS steady at 0.10, FENA up 0.02 to 0.10/168K, DR STONE up 0.02 to 0.09/149K, and DRAGON BALL up 0.02 to 0.08/130K." Surprisingly quite stable!
  17. Blade Runner: Black Lotus is here, but it's no MHA. All timeslots appear to have dropped slightly, but at least once again all regular-length premieres made the Top 50: https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-11-13-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html Interestingly enough, the female 12-34 audience stayed pretty strong throughout the block, after Black Lotus arguably captured a top 10 slot for that demographic at Midnight. At this point, it doesn't seem like there's much Toonami can do to expand its audience beyond the 2-3 stadiums-full of people who watch every week, but then again, we'll see what the Friday takeover lineup will do soon enough!
  18. It's been well established that Netflix has "fuck you" money. (See: JoJo Part 6). But this project and Death Note also prove they have "fuck up" money! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
  19. M8For what it's worth, I did enjoy this episode when I finally caught it at like 4 in the morning. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/yashahime-princess-half-demon/episode-17/.168749 At this point, 2.5 stars seems like a positive review. Bet this guy really crapped his pants when he found out there would be a 2nd season!
  20. A species of ant not native to Japan might be translated as "rare".
