From my personal experience people want to try and be your friend when you're actively trying to avoid being around them

ugh...this  might be an unpopular opinion but wrestling tv shows should only be an hour long and ppv's two hours long.

It says something about our Eurocentric studies in public school curriculums when I had to read a novel about a girl watching a family conflict on the side I cannot remember the name of, but not any of the novels of other cultures.  At the least I would have them read part of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
