It’s getting old this shit where the Jets season is over by Halloween. lol they’re no better off than they were with Zach Wilson at QB. Also Garett Wilson is not the superstar the NFL is trying to push him of to be. He’s just not.

I'm not saying this to be mean, I really don't understand what is happening at this point.

You guys have spent like 1/3 of the gold from Ft Knox on players and I think you have the same record as the Falcons......

That Sunday night game was super tough for me to watch.

Not because of teh game itself, but because I was super torn on who I wanted to win.

On the one hand, if the Jets lost I knew the memes would be gold and the drama unending.

On the other, I reallllyyyy wanted to see Wilson suck for the cathartic release after the last 2 years.

Holy shit.  He pulled Darnold’s helmet so far he was looking at his own ass.

He just was trying to imitate the refs, unfortunately he couldn't bend far enough to get his head literally up his own ass

The Refs are an absolute joke. The MLB is about to bring in roboump to stop this kind of thing from happening, but the NFL refuses. Its a pretty sad state when the damn MLB is more forward thinking than you are.

Yup i didn’t feel too bad though cuz the refs did to the Vikings what they do to the Jets all the time including when they played the Vikings

when you look at the angle that shows the hands on the face mask it looked definitely like he had a finger hooked in there and it should have been called. Maybe replay assist will eventually be used to cover penalties on scoring plays. No one was able to challenge that unfortunately

The refs are definitely a joke but I’m pretty sure it’s a feature at this point and not a flaw

Oh its absolutely a feature at this point. The NFL loves the drama when this happens.

They also love it when their poster boys get soft calls at the end of the game to help them win. Its a nice and easy way to make sure that the "right" team wins for the optimal NFL outcome.

The NFL desperately needs to have some sort of review process for penalties. Bellecheck probably had the best idea of all. Coaches get 3 challenges a game to challenge anything they want. Play, penalty, missed call. Anything.

I think 2 challenges are enough but they should include penalties. I like how it is now, how if 2 challenges are correct they get a third. I think replay assist needs expansion and they definitely need to use the electronic down markers like in preseason along with the chain gang.

Totally agree.

I also think a fast review with an eye in the sky should be implemented. No reason an off-field official cant call down and say "hey, you missed a blatantly obvious call, throw the flag"

Or also “your call was bullshit pick up the flag” but how long would that type of thing extend the game. One thing i like about football is it’s pretty fast compared to baseball or soccer.  Basketball and also pretty quick been getting into that.

College has the replay assist and that moves pretty quick. Generally its pretty obvious when a call was missed or wrong. Like that face mask was so obvious that anyone should have been able to call it. Thats a 5 second review from the upstairs official. "Obvious facemask, throw the flag"

Really seems like they could make it go fast.

And as for fast sports, Hockey is the fastest. Games generally fly by, and the action is quick.

It was technically a scoring play.  Why wasn't it reviewed?

Because regardless I’m pretty sure no call penalties aren’t reviewable. Otherwise idk.  my bf asked me the same thing.

I don’t watch college football cuz idek where to start. There seems to be so many conferences and divisions it’s confusing to me 😬 as for hockey, I’m not really a fan of low scoring games that can end 0-0. But idk maybe if I gave it a chance I’d like it. I know it’s like crazy violent and it’s not unheard of for teeth to land on the ice 😬

Yes, technically they are, but refs have been known to add penalties on automatic review because you're actually "supposed" to be looking for a spot and the penalty definitely impacts the spot.

Like you, I have no fucking clue what the rules actually are.  In all likelihood, this crew is going to get demoted for it because it's so egregious and the referee was standing not more than 5' from the penalty.

It’ll show up on ESPN if it happens.  The ref had to explain why he didn’t make the call and he said he couldn’t see.

I can’t figure them out either all I know is Deshaun Watson is out for the season. Idk who their backup is

Jameis Winston, or as we like to call him in the south, Crab Legs (he attempted stealing crab legs when he was in college from a regional grocery chain)

If I can play devil's advocate here for just a moment

gonna break this play down molarbear style

From this angle right here, that hand could easily be grabbing Darnold's left arm, was it? No, but this official most likely saw the defender coming up, saw his hands going up, and then his eyes went straight to watching the ball to see what unfolds there. Looking for any forward motion etc, in the event that ball pops out.

How he was not able to notice Darnold involuntarily pulling an exorcist (sans the pea soup vomit) after the fact, does absolutely astound me.
