[classic swim] Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Killing or sparing Darko is great because neither option will redeem Niko, but both options redeem Roman. That’s really the only time where neither player choice was a mistake. No scripted nagging and it’s perfectly clear why they even bothered staying cousins. 2 Quote

Expand I feel like killing him is the right thing to do. Roman surviving is supposedly the canon version. It makes more sense for Packie to leave to Los Santos after his sister dies. It doesn't make sense for Niko to spare Darko's life but then choose revenge. My favorite is choosing to spare Darko and choosing deal. Roman dying gives the whole thing a film noir vibe it was going for. Niko can easily make money in America, but he can never be close to anyone, just like in Serbia. But again, Roman canonically survives, so 😑 2 Quote

You don’t get as grand of a performance from both Hollick and Zumwalt if you spare him. I chose Revenge every time. Every playthrough, that and killing Playboy are the two that never change. And while it’s true Rascalov was more threatening, saving Pegorino for last still fit thematically with everything said in the 1st mission about war. Niko and Jimmy lying to each other’s faces the second they met to solidify a partnership is how I imagine it was like trafficking for Bulgarin. 1 Quote

There's also something about a Serb killing a Russian in front of a famous gift from France. I almost always kill Playboy too because as Ryder would say, he's a buster. Plus, you get Claud's outfit. 1 Quote
[classic swim] Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM The one thing that sets back Out of Commission would be Jimmy’s backup and escape being less realistic. The only acceptable way Salvatore could return to the franchise was through that asshat. That was always creatively planned, and my one gripe was people seeing all the others in the game pointing and laughing at Jimmy on purpose and thinking he was really a bad character because of that. If Jimmy was perceived as a joke in IV’s plot, Salvatore would be a paper thin cartoon in that setting. But if Salvatore was a respected villain in III’s plot even when equally paranoid, Pegorino would be a nightmare on the Portland side of Liberty. Quote
