The strange thing is I personally know a few of the people on the list. It’s eerie.

Why does there seem to be a large increase in this stuff going on?

It’s in the DFW area.

Not sure if it’s an increase in the activity so much as an increase in people being caught.  Enforcement always brings more cases to the limelight.

Because it's always happened, but awareness is much larger....due to internet and nosey people...which this is one of the few times nosey people help a situation

No. There’s an increase in activity, as well. 
People being caught hasn’t necessarily increased.

Potential theory is that with the pandemic quarantines and lockdowns, bad actors had the enforced time to do even more harm.
