The one man revolution

Maybe it just me but from time to time I think "if I want change that effects me positively, I will have to be the one to take up arms" then I close the tab that pisses me off and I go back to being a cog in the machine.....but for that scant 30 seconds, I wonder....what if...?

So the question is.....Today is the day, you're fed up and not going to take it anymore. Youre going to use your special set of skills to topple the oligarchy. Whether it's computer skills, charisma to motivate others or just plain taking to the streets and passing judgement as you see fit, how far do you think you could get....how long would you last. Would you think you'd come to regret what you started but know there's no return to your peaceful life.

Could you and you alone make a dent in any of this....where would you start, what would you do.....

I am not suggesting anyone get too specific for obvious reasons...the board don't need the heat.

Me. I would probably choose the wonton (is that how you spell it in this context) destruction angle and get gunned down in a blaze of glory....the reality being I'd off some important person and if im not killed instantly, probably die from stress because I worry about everything.....l'd never be able to sleep

This thread is brought to you by several hours of Saints Row

Don’t quit your day job. I know you must feel empowered to take on ANY establishment like it wasn’t a direct threat to your own well-being. Being a cog ain’t bad. You get kick backs at opportune times and don’t have to report to any gnarly outpost like some sort of …

you know, I think the threshold has been reached. If I risk life and limb to achieve some sort of personal goal, it’s only one more step to sainthood or martyrdom. Those are extreme examples. You won’t know til you blow…..

personally, I like having skin and not dragging my body on the cement.

One man is seldom powerful enough or probably more to the point motivational enough to bring about a revolution...There are people on this planet that have raised an arm to corruption and never put it down...literally. The science of a feat like that is what makes it stick in my memory I guess, but just in case I get the incoherency card pulled on me...

https://www.jpost.com/omg/meet-the-man-whose-arm-has-been-raised-for-almost-50-years-688399#:~:text=Amar Bharati in 1973 decided, small local bank in India.

So let's get to the meat of the matter though taking up arms, and giving the system your best John Wick.. Well how well has that worked out for the action hero himself? I mean he lives...but with one less finger, and betrayed by the same man that appealed to his sense of righteousness so my point is one man aint gonna bring about a revolution...Alone anyway.

Thanks sponges.....

Not sure why everyone else is making this super cereal, but it's ok....Maybe I should have put it in rants if that's the climate of this post.

Maybe context is key?  But I really didn't want to spell out what I had to do in the video game mission that prompted this.

One of the gangs on SR are the idols and they are basically anarchists and they do some pretty dumb shit to stick it to the system.....That's all.

Nah, no context is needed.  I mean, the older I get, the more I measure my failures in life by the number of times per week I feel like a one man wrecking crew.

No, it wasn't you...at least you didn't start it, so sorry man... once again, it's not about you

Hey, and like most times I'm glad it's not about me, but when I post a hindu spiritual that mummified his arm by raising it and never putting it down and then allude to John Wick can you really blame me for thinking I might be the one you're talking about lol? Anyway solid OP. I couldn't help myself from adding that post..
