Like disco said you pick any five letter word. Every day the word is the same for everyone. The gray squares indicate letters not in the “wordle” yellow is correct letter wrong place. Green, correct letter and place. It’s a lot of fun. What bnjmy did was ruin the game for all that hadn’t played yet. 
 

what the graphic she posted showed she got it in 3 tries with only 1 letter. That’s damn good.
