Seight Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I'm actually looking for a new laptop or Chromebook because 2 of the last 4 updates I've had to do a restore because the update keeps getting stuck on the fucking HP screen
Distortedreasoning Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 can rollback to the previous update? look under settings>update and security>recovery. then there should be a roll back to the previous version of windows. worth a shot if you havent tried. 1

Doom Metal Alchemist Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Did you get the blue screen of death? Is the blue screen of death even still a thing?

BSODs still happen, but Win10 has it so that the computer immediately starts a data dump procedure to send to MS (if you opted in), provides you with a QR explaining what is going on and then attempts a reboot. 1

Gonna sound dumb, but when we had issues at work with Dell & IBM laptops going dark, we'd just undock or unplug and pull the battery for a few seconds. Then reverse the process. It always worked. Forgot - you could also check the CMOS battery. Edited December 20, 2021 by tsar4
Lasty Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Windows murdered your laptop to make you buy a new one.

Just sticky enough without leaving residue. 1

MacBooks have shit ton of screws of different lengths to deal with.
