savannah, georgia?

If you're looking for a beautiful, yet spooky city to visit this fall, consider Savannah.

I know traveling is all fucked up now due to the pandemic, but masks are enforced down there. No mask = ticket.

Anyways, the city is literally built on the dead. There are bodies all over the city. Cemeteries were knocked down in order to make roads and sidewalks. But the bodies remain where they were.

Bonaventure Cemetery is one of the most beautiful places in the city. Scenes from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil were filmed there.

A couple of signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried in Colonial Park Cemetery.

James Lord Pierpont, the composer of Jingle Bells is buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery, as well as Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts.

We have River Street, which is all cobblestone. Tons of fresh seafood and bars. Two candy stores, where the candy is made on site.

Of course, there is The Pirate's House, where Robert Louis Stevenson wrote parts of Treasure Island at. Tunnels from The Pirate's House run to the river, where pirate's shanghaied people back in the 1700's. Their food isn't bad. They are famous for pecan fried chicken.

Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures have both been a few times. One of the most haunted places in the whole city is the Moon River Brewing Company on Bay Street. I have been in the basement there where apparitions have been seen. I have been upstairs too, and that place is creepy as hell.

Fort Pulaski is down there, if you're into Civil War history. There's a train museum that's really cool, and it is located next to the site of the second bloodiest battle of the Revolutionary War.

There's also Tybee Island for those who want to go to the beach. Not much to do down there in the fall, but it's there.

If you have ever been, tell me what you did while there and what sites you saw.

If you've never been there but are interested, I can tell you all you need to know.

I haven't but if I hear about towns in Georgia it's either ATL, Savannah, or for some reason, Warner Robbins, so I've definitely heard of it and know it exists. I'd go there to visit you someday :D

I don't know why Warner Robbins comes up on anyone's radar. Not much to it. I've only been through it a couple of times on my way to Alabama. We're on the opposite side of the state.

Savannah sounds like a cool place to be, and I would love to go, but I chuckled at how this read like several-hundred-year-old pirates were known for their fried cuisine.

Haha. Blackbeard's famous fried chicken.

They do have on the menu though, Captain Flint's rum marinated pork chops. And they are pretty good.

My state says your state is naughty. I'm not allowed there. Or death penalty.

Well, that's not fair, considering I can't argue, since I don't know what your state is.

But yeah, my state can be naughty. Elaborate more and your non-allowance.

The furthest I'm allowed to go, is PA.
